Yeah it's just a video effect used in the editing process, one name for it is echoing. It basically just copies the image and replays it one or more frames later. The editing program they used apparently has keyframe capabilities, so they were able to gradually increase and decrease the echoing throughout the video.

Honestly I thought it was a bit much...maybe they should've just echoed Eric's bow hand, cuz bouncing Greg was a little distracting =P
