You don't have Beryl? Mostly Beryl works since the installations. Maby you mean Compiz Fusion?? I had lots of problems with it too. Do you have a Nvidia graphiccard?
how the hell does everyone get this working? I've read countless websites and tutorials and tried like 50 million lines of code in ubuntu 7 trying to get beryl working and it still doesn't do shit. Why can't they make a linux that works the way its supposed to!?
i understand you here is help for you go to SABAYON LINUX wewbsite and try to download sabayon linux 3.5 that linux includes virtualbox to run windows inside linux and includes beryl compiz even your ass is included there and the best part you dont have to install it to try the cool efects because the visual efects depends of your video card of course will work right from the cd room without ever having to install it do that until i poste a video teaching how to full set up linux

ok did you download SABAYON LINUX 3.5 IN THE DOWNLOAD SECCION OF SABAYON HOME SITE DO THAT AND YUO WILL REMEMBER ME ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS DOWNLOAD THE ISO BURN IT INTO A DVD THEN BOOT THAT DISC ON YOUR COMPUTER YOU MUST SELECTE THE DISC as the first boot device and will boot from the disc and will boot up with all this cube efects and anything you want i am recording now a tutorial for everybody
yea yea i under stood that its just that I plan to use my computer for more than just cute little affects and hardly any of the "linux" software ever works, no matter what lines of code you try to give it. Linux might be really reliable but that fact remains: You still can't do anything useful on it unless you're a computer genius with years of computer training
not at all in less than 4 days right now i giot working everything i wanted like WINDOWS INSIDE LINUX even furder now im going to activate 3D ACELERATION into my virtual machine and thats what im doing right now no need to be a computer genious i told you that you can start to get used to the interface and start to learn were is everything on linux and how to do things under linux but you wont learn just by complaining

i know there are advantages but also disadvantages i prefer linux or mac os leopard as a host and windows as guest linux is so stable professional takes alot of advantage of your hardware not like windows you need the nasa computer to run vista anyway i want to help soon will poste a video in super high quality teaching step by step how to install dual boot and all that
vista? I have it running on a samsung q1 ultra (one of those ultra portable PCs) with 512MB RAM and a 700MHz CPU and it runs perfectly on it. (WITH the aeroglass crap turned on). I use mac and PC equally.
yeah i know they are fixing the slow performance thing on newer versions i fixed a laptop of a friend lenovo i think was the brand but was really fast i was surprised since windows crapsta is SUPER heavy
oh sorry u are a gamer. SLKclan... yeah stick to windows... all you think of as "powerful" is probably gaming. Thats all that is important to you. BTW my laptop had sound and video drivers working at live cd boot... Windows doesnt even have that nor would it install drivers for you itself

Windows "just" works? You are sadly mistaken. Ever try re-installing it fresh without all the corporate softare pre-installed? Windows sucks balls and is only made usable by PC manufacturers who ship it with hardware drivers. You've gotta put around $500 into software just to make a Windows operating system usable. I run Windows XP in a virtual machine when I want to use the one or two pieces of "Windows Only" software like Age of Empires that I like that don't run quite right in Wine.
