  • hey guys, i got one of this and it have some fucking heavy bugs i think,

when i use it as audio+midi interface it suddenly change the pitch of the audio coming out , with no apparent wrong settings (i use a macbook pro and logic 8,1, and other midi equipment hooked up ) and no time reference, i mean it can do it after 2sec playing or after 3 mins or never.

Can you help me on this ThanxXXXx

  • Does anyone know how to use the record and playback features?

  • Why do good synths disappear from the market so fast and get replaced by crap? Last time i checked this video they were available but i didnt have the money and now the x-station is nearly extinct?!

  • @NyXemB There's always an X-Station or two or three on eBay. Theres a 61-key right now but it needs electronic work, and I'll probably get it when I have the scratch. I already have a 25 and 49. I want a complete set. I'd like a KS Rack, too, but I've only seen one or maybe two in the years I've been scanning eBay. I'd settle for the KS-5 that's on there right now. Of course, you could always get an Ultranova. It's not crap, and unlike the used units it comes with a warranty.

  • Great demonstration but I really feel the filters aren't great on the Xio/KS/XS synths.

  • what is better x-station 49, microkorg or m-audio venom?

  • Hey S4K, love your work ^_^ would you recommend the X-station or MicroKORG for a beginner? I just want to make some sounds for my friends and have fun.

  • @cjsinister6 Mikrokorg.

  • @M0CH4B34R

    fuck that.

the x-station is way more versatile than microkorg: way more real-time controls and audio interface

  • @evilsnakes1 Not for a "beginner." He just want's to have fun with it. He doesn't need an X-Station.

  • @M0CH4B34R

half the fun for a beginner is toying around with the sounds. having something as fundamental as the adsr envelopes hiding behind a menu system means that a beginner won't manipulate them. with the faders on the x-station, they'll understand as soon as they move them. hell, the x-y pad alone makes x-station > microkorg (even though, yes, microkorgs limited presets are steller). and the audio interface is EXACTLY what a beginner needs.

  • may i just ask..xiosynth is a smaller version of xstation? am i right? xiosynth just have a new package..but still the same features of the xstatioN?

  • Awesome....

  • Please help me - I've read lot a lot of comments on this synth and one thing I still cant get:

is it possible to SIMULTANEOUSLY use it as sound card ( by sending to speakers something from sequencer - beat, etc.) AND as a synth for playing separate melody, bass line, etc. ?? I need that kind of functioanality for gigs and key word is SIMULTANEOUSLY. Thanx in advance!

  • wow ... can you please tell me if the sound at 05'47" is onboard or made by you and if arp gate that you play at 04'19" can be play in a chord like a "trancegate" effect.

    thanx

    great gear

  • @socz190 all sounds are presets

  • is this a Synthesizer or a Midi controller or both? does it have its own sound bank and if so how many presets does it have?

  • @cjsinister6 its 3 things...a stand alone synth, a midi controller, and an audio interface. The soundbank has almost 200 sounds in it but can only be played while on play mode..But you can switch it between controller and play modes with a button - but when switching to controller mode from play mode the automap causes a short delay while the auto mapping occurs. I only tried it with reason so I dont know about other progs.

  • Damn, you've got fast fingers, I thought I was fast, but you're super fast lol

  • I'm looking to buy a synth but I have no clue what to buy. Is this a good synth to start out with?

  • @zmanmull93 it has many knobs so tweaking stuff is easy and fun.

  • a quanto ammonta il prezzo di un XSTATION attualmente!...premetto che sono ancora intenzionato di prendermi un MicroKorg amando i suoni un po + retro, ma questa XSTATION l'apprezzo davvero tantissimo!

  • MacGyver at 6:28! awesome!

  • AWESOME!

Do you think this synth is a great buy?

  • i love the sound at 1:50, and it's very well played

  • Bella demo!

    Utile e ben fatta.

    Grazie.

  • @filippoGlb Alesis Ion

  • Hey, an Ion to the right! :)

  • Some Wicked Synths! SUPER !

  • nice demo !! Hoooraay to liquid modelling !

  • Cazz, cambia tutto quando dimostri un synth te!

  • aceeeeeed!

  • where can i get something like that?

  • beautifull mannnn

  • this is why i just bought it!

  • 7:53 Da Fuck Mate!

  • the manual arpeggiator

  • Lol yea :D

  • Cool! Its sounds better than Korg R3!!

  • You are an awesome musician, regardless of the synth tweakage. Wicked pianist.

  • hi!

can you make (program) your own arpeggio presets on X-Station? Thanks ;)

  • can you save a sound once you create it for recall ? a synth with no instant recall of sounds is a pain in the aZZ.

  • well x-station is better than xiosynth, but compared to microkorg they're especially for a beginner pretty much all the same. Microkorg can be annoying because of the mini-keys, but it's still a very popular synth so I guess to many people the keys are not a problem.. if you have a chance to try it out in a store or something I recommend you do that..also the price of the x-station just went down, so you should drop the xiosynth from your list. Personally I'd go for X-station.

  • was that a bit of alan parsons project i heard at 1:49? :P

  • Nice! Thanks for the in-depth demo!

  • i love that riff

  • Comment removed

  • some cool sounds

  • A brilliant demo from a top class piano man,

What are the bass samples like

  • sounds from 5:46-6:06 are amazing. love it.

  • trancehead...

  • @thrcman 1:55 jazzhead =P

  • 6:30 Sounds like MacGyver theme :D:D

  • nice demo man awsum keyboard skills thanks for posting

  • 6:30 very nice, what is it?

  • Junt an improvvisation :)

  • 4:24

  • Gotta love that Novation touchpad and pitch bend...nothing like it!

  • the sond are very good.. but iam not shure the synth have BIG & Phat sound.. mabe its better to save a get a prophet 8..

  • is it possible to create warm, fat strings on this synth?

  • can you like play a beat in this and loop it and contiune playing it?

because am intesested in this synth and i really wanna buy it

  • yes, is possible but you need a Soft SEQ

  • it is not a "sequencer" on it's own, nor "records itself" (other than saving patches/sounds). You need to hook it to a computer with software - I use one with a Mac and GarageBand -- it is fantastic!! I'm pretty sure there is free software out there to do the same thing as GB.

  • do you use linux. there are some great DAWs and softsynths on that os

  • It seems to be a little light on bass.

  • So which do you like better: the x-station or the Alesis Ion? =]

  • Wow man! Not only does this little thing pack a mean punch, you do a great job in demoing it. Ive read quite a few good reviews and everyone seems satisfied with it. Reviews are good but watching someone actually showing what this thing can do is even better. Im going to buy one of these! Great vid, great playing! Thanks!!!!!!!!!

  • thats awesome i want one how much are they? do u already need to now how to play keyboard or can you learn straight away wen u get a synth pad ?

  • Hi, 250 euro used in italy, is to simple to use :)

  • it was 300 at gutiarcenter but i jsut checked again and its 230 but its on close out

  • Great demonstration. Keep up the good work.
