  • 4 people don't understand the awesomness of being a cyborg, they can't hear their ghost whispering to them......

  • A ga maeba, kuwashime yoini keri

A ga maeba, teru tsuki toyomu nari

    Yobai ni kami amakudarite,

    Yoha ake, nuedori naku,

    Tookamiemitame

  • This song goes perfectly with the atmosphere in Ghost in the Shell. Very Epical.

  • Sugoi !

  • 4 people don't know how to make a cyborg

  • Awesome movie, i loved it since early 96 when i was 13 turning 14 after being impressed by renting Akira on video. I saw GITS in a theater here in Albuquerque with my big brother who was visiting from Las Crusas university, i loved it. I became an anime fan thanks to Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, Akira and this as i rented and bought any anime around.

  • @Johnlindsey289 whoa im from abq go lobos!

  • This song is so powerful, just like the movie. I just watched it, and it's deep. Not what I was expecting. Despite the surprise, I was not dissapointed at all.

  • The first time I watched this, I wasn't prepared for this powerful song in the opening. Right off the bat, shivers went down my spine, and I just stood there, staring at the screen, mouth open.

  • Probably the most majestic song I have ever heard.

  • I watched Ghost in the Shell 2.0 yesterday. I was only going to watch a little bit to see what they changed, and ended up watching the whole thing through. God I love this movie.

  • "Who are you? Who slips into my body and whispers to my Ghost?"

  • @MrABadDriver she did not believe in Keynesian economics. Or Wealth of Nations for that matter. It sounds to me like according to her philosophy there is an invevitable limit to human development and growth. Specialization is our way of converting growth of a population into technological growth.

  • looooovin it sooo much even after hearing it like one milion times already

  • @hadynaa

It never ever gets old. It's a moving song with a lot of meaning behind it.

  • Has anyone here played MGS2? GITS' theme really reminded me of MGS2's theme, how informations influence humang beings and all. Nice movie, refreshing. Better than all those lolshooting and actiion1!111 animes.

  • there is someting that says "spelization generates ignorance". same meaning!

  • deadmau5 has used this in a couple sets!

  • i dont understand why do you have so many thumbs down dude, i liked your comment

  • dunno dude. it IS a bit of a pile on...

  • Ghost In The Shell and Gunnm are my favourite mangas.

I think Ghost In The Shell is more focused on the interaction human-machine. Gunnm is more focused on the social effects caused by the high tecnology without any control.

Both are great works of art.

Well, the soundtrack of GITS is wonderful.

  • If you're of the internet generation, there are three movies you must see before you die:

    Blade Runner

    The Matrix

    Ghost in the Shell

    'Nuff Said.

  • one more to go then ;D

  • I agree having seen all three. But I think I'll stick around a while...

  • Just make sure that its the directors cut of Blade Runner you watch, they mutilated the official release to give it a nice ending, and voice-overs. The directors cut is better, its a classic.

  • @Untemperedsteel the "fianal cut" it's than for lovers, i agree with you...

  • @Barricade Akira don't forget Akira!

  • Simply breathtaking.

  • Time to check Rotten Tomatoes...yup, still good.

  • This has probably been said to death but:

One of the best anime movies since Akira.

  • Funny, I received both those movies the same day. I just finished re-re-watching Ghost in the shell.

  • I do like the SAC soundtrack in it's own respect, but the original movie ost is just incredible.

  • how nostalgic .... 5/5

  • Magnifique..!

  • Such a haunting song, I love it! I remember watching this on STARZ back in 1997, back when STARZ showed anime on Friday nights. Way better anime than the crap Adult Swim shows now. Great movie, beautiful soundtrack.

  • I like the movie OST much better than the series OSTs.

  • beautiful. only one word beutiful. it is so simple but beautiful. almost holy.

  • wen i was 16years old,my brother rent that movie, the song sound familiar.

  • WOW the memories...had this original soundtrack on CASSETTE. (remember those? lol) Brilliant movie and sndtrk. Will never forget it. Thanx for posting. 5/5

  • Because I had danced, the beautiful lady was enchanted

Because I had danced, the shining moon echoed

Proposing marriage, the god shall descend

The night clears away and the chimera bird will sing

  • A ga maeba, kuwashime yoinikeri

    A ga maeba, terutsuki toyomunari

    Yobai ni, kami amakudarite

    Yo wa ake, nuedori naku

  • beautiful man

  • Ahh Ghost in the Shell. One of the great Legendary Anime Classics. How I love it. I miss that kind of directing. I still say 1985-1996 were the grates time for anime. Directors were on fucking fire then :). I do miss the old hardcore flawless story telling from that time. :( We may never have anything as good as Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, or the good and old Robotech.

  • its SDF macross..but yes i do agree with ya, teh only exception thus far is full metal panic..everything else is old school FTW!

  • Not to mention Samurai X...

  • Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040!

  • Where's the "Tookamiemitame" part?

  • That's another chant. That one is from Innocence.

  • I found it, it's on Resurrection III.

  • At the beginning, at every beat of the drum I get goose bumbs all over my back ... wow

  • Recommended movie

Kenji Kawai Concert - Reincarnation (from Ghost in the Shell)

  • Comment removed

  • great sound... could you tell me some other tracks which are very similar/familar to this one?

    i'd be glad!

    thanks.

  • try "innocence"

  • do you mean this intro song from Ghost in the Shell 2 Innocence ? It's Kugutsuuta Ura Mite Chiru ^^

  • Man this is really relaxing music!!!

  • A ga maeba, kuwashime yoini keri A ga maeba, teru tsuki toyomu nari Yobai ni kami amakudarite, Yoha ake, nuedori naku, Tookamiemitame / When you are dancing, a beautiful lady becomes drunken. When you are dancing, a shining moon rings. A god descends for a wedding And dawn approaches while the night bird sings. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you.
  • i wonder what the lyrics mean in english?

  • Its a wedding song

cant tell you more than that

  • seriously yeah? it's beautiful...

  • ah been looking for this quite some time now, thanks for the upload ^_^

  • it sounds very much like Akira`s Music

  • este genero musical se conoce como voces hungaras?? recomendadme mas por favor. ciao

  • Do any of you know any songs like this on itunes?

  • Ah I needed to hear this song... It's so good. Although I love old-school anime and the cyberpunk genre (AKIRA) I never really liked GITS that much in spite of it having incredible visuals and a really great soundtrack. I just felt like the pace of the story was a bit slow and overly pretentious at times.

  • Not really, it's just very confusing :P

  • Search for "makai beneath the mask ghost in the shell" for a awesome Remix!

  • Making a cyborg is from Kenji Kawai.

The OST of Ghost in the shell was made by Takyu Ishino.

Check out Desimal - Ghostrain , this song uses a sample of Making a cyborg.

  • it's not Bulgarian Choir. this score is sung by "Nishida-Shachu Minyou Choir," a Japanese old folk song choir. "Minyou" is a genre of Japanese old folk songs. this composer Kenji Kawai tried to have Bulgarian Choir song this score, but he was told it's impossible. Bulgarian Choir can only sing their original scores but others. so, mr. Kawai had "Nishida-Shacu Minyou Choir" sing this piece in "Ghost in the Shell."

  • love it

  • Ah never listen to it very loud with crappy audio!

I love this song,it's so haunting and beautiful but when we were watching it (on crappy VHS) in class the other day the volume was up so loud I think my ear drums burst xD

  • What subject were you on in class (film school?) that led you to watch GitS?

  • Er,it was either English or Philosophy,I have the same teacher for both.

Most likley English because we were comparing scenes of it to The Matrix.

  • Wow, why didn't I get to watch stuff like that for English. We had the Joy Luck Club and Seamus Heaney's poetry to bore ourselves over.

  • Wouldn't it be philosophy since Ghost In the Shell Is a big movie when it comes to philosophy.

  • Nope it was definatley English,we were studying "The matrix" and writing an essay comparing it to the bible and using ghost in the shell as another example since they have similar concepts.

  • awesome but...how does the matrix compare to the bible?

  • The idea of a "one sent to save man kind" the one being sacrificed and then resurected, the idea that our everyday life is a false one, while our true life lies somewhere else, the idea that someone with knowledge can see through this illusion, the judas...there are probably more but I haven't watched the movie in years.

  • because both of them are artificial constructed? ya, i, too, am curious on how these two being compared together

  • its a japanese bridal song, but done is a a different choir method. give it to mamuro oshi to make it sound this haunting. it's a little petrifying but soothing aswell

  • I LOVE this song since I watched Ghost In The Shell. I wish you could get it on iTunes.

  • year 2029..hmmmm.DEJA VU!!!!!

    2029 DEJA VU!!!

    anyway, awesome movie.

  • the best for chilling :o)

  • Just a Master Piece.

  • This song brings me back...it's so beautiful the way it's sounds it really fits the opening scene of the movie. I want to do something like that some day.

  • Deadmau5 live at DEMF 2008, search that for an amazing little mix of this at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival '08.

  • increible......

  • I love this song and I don't know why ever since I heard it

  • The song uses an ancient form of the Japanese language mixed with Bulgarian harmony and traditional Japanese notes. Kenji Kawai (DIRECTOR) originally wanted to use Bulgarian folk singers, but was unable to find any, so he relied on the Japanese folk song choir he used earlier in the Ranma 1/2 anime.

  • by ancient form of japanese language, do you mean ainu by any chance?.. I am not sure though if Ainu had any influence over mainstream japanese language, .. however cant claim to be an expert on this, just asking.

  • same here :D this is all i know about this song. It's stunningly charmonized.Well, most Bulgarian choir songs are... that's why he wanted to use a Bulgarian choir but i think the Japanese folk song choir has done the job :)

  • This is Yamato language, not Ainu language.

Yamato language was a mainstream of ancient Japanese.

  • well you can edit the info on Wikipedia :)

  • ranma 1/2?!?! YAY!!!! oh yeah and i love gits btw :D

  • thanks, man. I knew there was something bulgarian in that tune. now I am sure about it.

  • You can? It's just my ignorance but I've searched "bulgarian folk songs" and "bulgarian folk harmony" and I still can't find anything that sounds quite like this. Maybe you could point me in the direction of some Bulgarian folk music that mirrors the harmony if this song please.

  • is it posted?

  • OK, I'll write it again for rctecopyright

there are many folkloric regions in Bulgaria and they are quite diffrent.

check for what is called "shopska pesen" or "shopski pesni", meaning "shopski songs". they are from the western part of Bulgaria and the ones sung by women sound like the one you like.

  • Wow thank you very very much. I'm almost positive I would have never found it if it weren't for you help.

  • He's correct--they're singing in an old form of Japanese using Bulgarian harmony . A ga maeba, kuwashime yoini keri A ga maeba, teru tsuki toyomu nari Yobai ni kami amakudarite, Yoha ake, nuedori naku, Tookamiemitame When you are dancing, a beautiful lady becomes drunken. When you are dancing, a shining moon rings A god descends for a wedding And dawn approaches while the night bird sings. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you.
