Despite Nod losing wars constantly, both sides were equal in terms of inflicting casualties. Kane is a mastermind who always got his primary objective completed, despite what GDI wanted to believe. It's not these goals that Kane had in mind, otherwise that makes him just another lunatic with an army; it's his long goals of ascension and constituting Tiberium into the nethers of Nod, that were his goals.

This game was so goddamn elite. so many ideas... from realistic predictions to high tech fantasies of destruction to action-oriented strategy to a hidden campain with dinasours to a superb musical collection which is much more potent than the "background music" featured in most games.

Command & Conquer take place in a alternate history in which World War Two was replaced by a Soviet invasion of Europe and China in 1953.

Some of the people in our history have a counterpart in that timeline. In the 'real' word's timeline, Alexei Kosygin was the Chairman of the Soviet of Ministers in 1964. But in the C&C timeline he was a Nuclear weapons scientist.

The same with George Patton. In both timelines he was still a General.

What's interesting about the Nod ending is that it doesn't bring an end to the war. GDI is hurt, but not defeated. So it's not impossible for it to be canon, though if it did happen they'd have mentioned it Tiberian Sun. Still...
