Also, don't you think that a review is obligated to at least commentate on how the game visually presents itself? I don't recall ever saying that I wanted in amazing graphics in the review, though.

Shooter fans don't care about graphics? Of course we do. (Though as in ALL genres, pretty picutres cant replace mediocre play action, as it seems may be the case with this title.)

You really miss the point on the graphic style here, though! Are you actually an Anime fan? It's SD zaniness, Like Goemon / Parodius, etc. Actually pretty well drawn. (even if not well animated, with low frame rate)

I'll rent it from Gamefly and play through just to see it. I think it will be an amusing 20 min

I think you are reviewing the wrong video game. Want realistic 3D graphics? Play PC games, the Wii is not for you. But, for people who are old-school gamers and know that 3D graphics don't make a good game, this game is beautiful. Nice 2D sprites, nice 2D background, nice gameplay. It remembers me from the good old SNES games, which are actually much better than all these boring generic shooters released in this generation.

Just like many people enjoy looking at still pieces of art, videogames are comprised of many artistic assets that come together to make an entertainment package.

I would prefer my game to be fun to play. However, if a game had the "world's greatest graphics", that would probably be a significant technical achievement worth recognition.

well, the real reason games were created wasnt for artistic entertainment, they were created simply for activity. video games are like books: it doesnt matter how great the front cover is, its just about the content inside. yeah this game isnt the best gameplay- wise, but you should be commenting on the fallbacks of its gameplay instead of how it looks as a review.

yeah it could get some awards for looking nice, but whos gonna want to play it if its gameplay is terrible?

It was inspired by an NES, MSX, AND PC-Engine game called Chuka Taisen (Cloud Master)

Seriously, it has the exact same enemies (look for cannon-pigs). Just search Chuka Taisen and you'll find this exact same thing, just NES-Style

Nintendo has dropped to revitalizing dead NES games, this game wasn't even very popular, the NES game was fun for its time, but honestly, bringing this to Wii so we can pay for it... That's just a scam. Yet another reason I enjoy the classics more.

The biggest problem with this game was that it was a full release rather than a $3.99 DL off Wii Shop. I can almost forgive it for being easy, but there's a complete lack of content.

I don't know it all but basically This game is a remake on the wii of a classic Sega Master game called "Cloud Master" I owned it as a kid and it was the only game I played so it's kind of personal memory for me. So the taking that into consideration this is basically the old game with improved graphics. I spotted this wii game at Best Buy and just knew what it was. So I am suprised someone picked it up and remade it.

I have this game.. and really if you are not a monkey king fan in the least.. you will prolly not like this game.. The game Is fun in my opinion.. but it is way too short and should have went onward to harder levels or something.. I thought That there was going to be more when i finished it as well.. it disappointed me when the end was ..well.. the end.. the bosses are a bit to easy. Again you would have to be a real monkey king fan in order to like this at all.. or a fan of side scroll shooters

Hmm, this is an interesting statement. I too collect bad games for different systems. I like showing them off to my friends and watching them play! It can sometimes be hilarious! I also like the fact that I am one of the few people who will actually own a particular game because of its awefulness. I purchased ACTION GIRLZ RACING after watching Never Chris' review. And many people haven't even heard of it! I did purchase MONKEY KING but I don't think it's that bad, actually. Try ANUBIS 2! LOL!
