well i was wondering how you processed the bark into rope. ive tried hammering it gently to a long stringy consistancey, but once the rope is spun, it cracks and breaks when its dry, is there any was to keep the rope supple?
@gotrocksinhead cool! looks beautiful.. i plan on going to college in portland after the summer... i can wait to do some bushwacking up there i live in california and the vegetation is pretty barren where i live.. itd be a nice change of scenery!
@KonstantinKuehn Good luck on your schooling. It is a beautiful area with so much to offer in the way of outdoors activities. We have such an abundance here. You'll have a ball!
The kids are having a grand old time and learning skills. I remember collecting cactus, and cactus tunas with my mother as a child also the yuca flowers to eat. Thanks Rocks.
@EDINBURGSTAR Im glad you enjoyed. We will return to collecting bark from already felled trees in the future but I wanted them to experience collecting the old way. Lots of fun!
Collecting wild foods and materials as a family makes for some great memories...
