  • Do you have any more Live Videos from Fastway?

  • Butt Rockers

  • Fastway was a great band! They were voted best opening band 1983!. This show they were opening for AC/DC.

  • @metalman1767 dude that was flick of the switch tour i was there in phx, do you this singer is now the singer for FLOGGING MOLLY?? sucks right?

  • They were great when I saw them in around 1984 opening for Ratt on their first headliner. Mamas Boys was on the bill too and was the actual opening act.

  • jeese... i'd love a board recording of this show!

  • Fucking amazing that first Fastway record is a 80's classic. cool to see footage with Dave King \m/

  • WOW....never thought I would get to see footage from this tour!...fucking classic.

  • Great video!! , i brought myself a copy on DVD from rockonvidtrade super cool!!

  • the tempos are evrywhere ,,but i love it...

  • WTF DAVE KING WITH LONG HAIR IN A DISCO SUIT

  • Their debut album, Fastway, was really a strong album. And very underrated. The musicianship was great, the songs all powerful, and it sounded great as it was engineered by the legendary Eddie Kramer. I saw Fastway on tour twice, once with AC/DC and another time with Saxon and Iron Maiden. Both times in Portland, Oregon. Great fun, and it makes me sad to hear and see the state of "rock" music today. The Decemberists? Give me a f'n break.

  • I feel that the album Fastway was a very underrated album. Strong musicianship, and great quality sound as it was engineered by the legendary Eddie Kramer. Saw Fastway on tour with Saxon and Iron Maiden in Portland, Oregon in 1983. Great fun. Too bad kids today aren't allowed to have the fun we did back then.

  • I saw that tour at Glens Falls Civic Center. Just a blur.

  • I like fastway, but what a fag

  • I saw them in '84 opening for The Scorpions. They Rocked!

  • i saw Fastway opening for AC/DC in 83 or 84. Kicked MAJOR ASS !! love them to this day ! DAVE KING----- GET BACK WITH THIS BAND !

  • One of the best Rock-N-Roll singers in the Buisness and what the hell is the singer doing with Floggin suck Molly that band is horrible he needs to get back into Fastway for a Reunion Tour Bullshit that the singer left Fastway.

  • I think I was at that show... I saw them at Nassau Coliseum open up for AC/DC, not Iron Maiden. It was my 1st concert! I loved AC/DC, I remember that they opened up with Gun's for Hire and Angus did a solo intro on top of the Amps on both sides and the middle before the song started. I still use AC/DC for soundtracks on my show. But I only remember this song from Fastway...

  • Same as or better than VH XD

  • I saw this tour at the Glens Falls Civic Center in upstate New York on August 23,1983. The Tour was called "The British Metal Onslaught" , Iron Maiden was the headliner with Fastway opening them up. Awesome concert! This video must have been recorded the day before or after I saw them in concert. Although it reminds me very much of the Glens Falls show. I wonder if this was recorded from the Glens Falls concert and not the Nassau Coliseum gig? Anyway, great video and with great memories!

  • @timothybender saw the same tour at Long Beach Arena. Fastway, Saxon and Maiden..what a show!!!

  • His daddy makes Star Wars music...rather nicely..still love "Fast Eddie"

  • Was Pete Way in the original Fastway.

  • @STRATCAT101 yeah man, pete way started fastway with eddie clark, recorded the 1st album and left to go back with UFO [cant blame him] so its him on the album but he got no mention on the cover cuz eddie was pissed off !!!

  • hey asshole you dont no good music if it hit you in the head asshole clintonlies

  • saw Fastway open for AC/DC in '83 in Pittsburgh. Their sound sucked! Didn't sound much different from what you hear in this vid! AC/DC blew em off the stage! and whats the deal with Fastway's singer? Moves around like a queer! The album rocks tho!

  • WHO CARES!!!! ( the neighbor is now 'officially' on the telephone!!!)

  • fastway first two cd's were classic, forever

  • I think i was at this show. Nassau coliseum. i think they open for Madien

  • I WAS there! I was 16 YO at the time. My second ever concert. They did open for Iron Maiden.

  • thank god dave king realized that this band was going nowhere and started up Flogging Molly... now thats a band

  • @thewho12344

Was Flogging Molly before or after his band Katmandu?

  • after Flogging Molly started in 92-93 and is still going strong

  • Hi Lidoplace I saw them too back in 1984 at the Brendan Byrne arena in New Jersey,They were awesome.I thought they were gonna be around for a while. The albums Dave King sang on are still the best.I wish they would do a reunion.

  • Saw them when they opened up for The Scorpions in August 1984 at the mighty Capital Centre. I had not heard of them before, but they blew me away. I thought they were going to be the next huge band....but they faded and I never knew why. I just remember the singer being incredible...like the next Robert Plant.

  • fast eddy ROCKS!

  • I was there, I was 13 on that day and my older brother took me for my B day, Thanx bro for turning me onto the shit. Over 25 yrs later and my bro now departed, This ones for you bro! R.I.P.

  • Nice brother :)

  • Same here! 'Cept I was 14 and the show was in Denver, CO at McNichols Arena "Big Mac" which, is no longer standing and is now the site of the new and awesome Invesco Field Mile High Stadium. I got to see A LOT of amazing concerts at old Big Mac. This was one of them that I'll never forget. This show inspired me to finally go out and buy me a guitar and start shreddin it up. Sorry to hear about your brother. May he rest in peace and I'm glad you two got to rock out to this show together.

  • @luvintunz My older bro took me to 1st concert in 77 at 12...UFO, Santanna ,Journey... you never quite forget

do ya. (Sorry to hear about you brother..)

  • MY GOD! I'm a huge Flogging Molly fan and I was a Fastway fan in the '80s (I think I still have the first Fastway record on vinyl around here somewhere), but I never put two and two together that Dave King was the same Dave King for both bands. That is SHOCKING. Wow.

  • one of the best metal albums of the 80,s

  • not at my show! and it was a maiden crowd! awesome live band! came out and kicked so much ass! awesome live with dave king on vocals!

  • Hey I was at the same show back in 1983 I believe it was December 8, 1983. This could be the footage from that show. This guy RAWKED very much like Robert Plant

  • i saw these guys for the first time in 82 ( yes i'm old )....they opened for Iron Maiden on their Piece of Mind tour...it was Fastway....Saxon...and Maiden,,,,,very bad ass show....

  • My wife and I actually met these guys at a record store signing in Walt Whitman Mall in NY back in 83'. The singer sounds like a cross between Dio and Plant.

I'm going to check out another oldie, but goodie band. Anyone remember Zebra?

  • I was very lucky to have seen them open for Iron Maiden at the Cape Cod Coliseum

    Alooooong time ago.GREAT SHOW!!

  • fastway will always rock.

  • damn! I never did get tired of listening to this whole cd.

  • Saw these guys open for AC/DC in 1983...one of the best debut cd's ever!!!!

  • Yeahh,I still love them.Saw them as Opening Act for AC/DC in 1986 and two years ago in Wacken.

    Great!

  • One of the most underrated band of all time......Fastway still kicks ass!

  • Saw them in 1983 opening for Saxon and Iron Maiden (World Piece Tour). Awesome.

  • always liked his vocals... jammin tune!

  • Blast from the past! Dave King sure looks (and sings) different now but that's okay at least he's still doing it! Thanx for posting.

  • Dave King is more chubby and fronting a Irish Drinking Folk Punk act called Flogging Molly.

  • I have bought some Fastway things (even an old vinyl). I have even downloaded some of their sfuff. But I've never , never, found this song anywhere. What album is it from? I really wanna buy it!

  • Look on e-bay it's there.

Black and white checker board cover. $6.00-10.00

  • man i always loved daves voice one of the best

sucks hes in a stupid band now

  • Flogging Molly is phenomenal. One of the best, most raucuous shows you're apt to find. Everyone should do themselves and check them out live. You will leave sweaty, beer-soaked, and exhausted.

  • Man this band is fucking Awesome!!!!

  • these motherfuckers rock!

  • And i bet Travers blew them all away.

  • Slow the hell down .. Fire the drummer, his meter sucks

  • Fast eddie started the song dumb ass!

  • I was 13 years old saw them at the Cape cod coliseum with Iron Maiden, will never forget that till the day i die...

  • Saw them with open for AC/DC at the Hollywood Sportatorium back in 83. Oh those were the days at the ole sporto.

  • The first band I ever saw live, they opened for AC/DC on the Flick of the Switch tour in 83' in Denver

  • i was at that show in 83 only in phx it was great flick is a great acdc record no one cares about it though . their new one sucks

  • Fastway/Saxon/Iron Maiden. I saw this show in Seattle. Great show!

  • i seen em in 83 buffalo ny they open 4 some 1 like def leppard or some 1 and they rocked i like e z livin

  • Can you imagine how good this band could have been had Pete Way stayed with them? First album was great. All Fired Up was good too. Trick or Treat soundtrack is still my favorite.

  • fastway/iron maiden 1983 richfield coliseum cleveland,ohio i was higher than a kite !!!

  • They opened this show for AC/DC on their Flick of the Switch" tour. It was at Madison Square Garden on December 5 still got my ticket stub. My very first show. Thanks for posting.

  • My 1st. show also here in Portland,OR. Still have my stub too, 83', good times!!

  • If he wasn't so fluffy Fast Eddie's guitar sounds would hurt us. He's there for balance. . .

  • This is the first time I've seen these guys on video. I really liked this song (and this band) back in the day, but how can a guy with a voice like this be so ... how can I put this tactfully ... effeminate? Like in the "We Become One" video, Jeff King looks like he's wearing a woman's top, and that prancing around ... yuk. He moves around like David Johannsen of the New York Dolls or Lou Reed or something. Please, someone, reassure me he's not gay. :-(

  • Dave King was the singer for Fastway in the 80's and now he sings for Flogging Molly. Damn, a lot of singers pranced around back then. Look at Robert Plant. That doesn't make them gay. They were just the stage moves by a lot of singers back then. Not that this all really fucking matters.

  • Well, I'm old enough to remember that time vividly, and I don't remember ANY singers prancing around like this (except for the aforementioned Mssrs. Johannsen and Reed and maybe a few others), particularly in women's tops. Sheesh ... even Freddie Mercury was less effeminate than this.

And I've seen more Robert Plant performances than I can count, and he never pranced like this or acted the least bit effeminate (quite the opposite).

Whatever ... to each his own, I guess. :P

  • To each his own exactly. I'm pushing 46, have been to lots of concerts over the years and have seen a lot of concert footage too. O.K., how about Billy Squier? I saw him open for The Who in '82. Pretty much a prancer.

  • Dang ... you got me there. Well, sort of. In the "Live in the Dark" concert film, Squier isn't inordinately effeminate or "prancing." But I saw an interview awhile back (on VH1, I think?) where he admitted that the "Rock Me Tonite" video ruined his career. And you're right, he was prancing around as bad or worse as Dave King in that video. It really turned off his fan base (myself included).

We could add Tim Curry, Tom Robinson and Boy George to the list, but they were openly gay.

  • saw billy squire when he was in a band called piper at the santa monica civic aud, opened for pat travers and dective.

  • thanks for the post.

  • First of all the man's name is Dave King & as far as I know he was married back in the 80's & may still be so. This of course does not confirm if the man is gay or not as you suggest but if the music is good & you are enjoying it, does it really matter if he is straight or gay anyway ????

  • to EVERYONE who ever smuggled in a video cam (not a weak audio recording) to save the 80's metal for posterity . .THANKS!!!!!

  • i was at this show.coney hatch was the 1st band on. thanks, the only live fastway footage i have ever seen.

  • I saw this tour too. Iron Maiden was headliner correct or was it Judas Priest?? Me thinks Maiden.

  • maiden,fastway,coney hatch

  • What a line up!! Ya don't get the quality shows these days. I should have remembered this better. I had 3rd row at the old Met Center in Minneapolis. Next day in school my poor ears were ringing all day. 3 bands that I discovered from MTV. What do ya get now??? Reality shows,,,lame. I miss this stuff.

  • hey, same show me too-great night

  • ownage
