  • Why don't they simply use european style armored steel doors?

Of course it is easy to break a simple wooden door with a simple cylinder lock.

  • check out the OnGARD door brace. Incredibly well constructed and easy to install.

    see videos on your youtube.

  • Well, as a locksmith, I would hope so. We don't want to make the door impenetrable. We do want law enforcement, fire and rescue to be able to gain entrance in emergency situations. The purpose of this product is to make it almost impossible for common criminals to gain access by kicking-in the door, which these days is one of the most popular method criminals use to illegally enter a home..

  • ScottfomTexas, you have some serious issues going on in your head. In most scenarios you see, the roles are completely reversed, the black guys or dark complexion guys are always portrayed as the bad guy. lighten up and just consider the merits of the product and forget who is playing what this one time please. If you like, I can have some white guys come over and install the product for you. However, you must pay them with green. That's the only color that matters when all is said and done.

  • Funny how every scenario you will see whether it be an ADT ad or Brinks or even this the perp is played by a White guy. Here they even go so far as to show the installer or owners as Black. "Gots to keep 'dem White criminals out of our house!" LOL! Political Correctness run amok.

  • ***SLOW them down ***

  • It is worth whatever the cost--May 8 , 2009 3:30 am 3 (dare I say men ) kicked in my front door and had guns to our head before we knew what was happening-the violence was so bad that we never slept in that house again....if you think that when u lock the doors and go to bed u r safe..u r lieing to yourself--so them down n e way u can - u need time to "except" that this IS happening 2 u and to respond

  • or just bump the lock,2 seconds and your in

  • When police and fireman arrive on scene, they bring heavy battering ram equipment specially designed to knock down doors . Believe me, emergency personnel would be in your home within seconds. Luckily, the average burglary doesn't carry around suck equipment.

Just as the video demonstrates, with a hammer and power drill, you and a friend could have this installed within 30-45 minutes. It's not a complicated installment. Buy one and if you can't install it, send it back and get your money.

  • So say my dog or elderly mom was in danger? A neighbor or stranger cant get in to help before emergency response personnel arrive.

Which brings how would emergency response personnel gain access if a fire blocks window access?

Plus I just dont think and average homeowner could install this, would take hiring a contractor, which would be more fees.
