That being said I still think they haven't quite cracked Magia yet. I can't really explain it but I feel the recorded ver of Magia is..much crispier? Hikaru is so strong and you can clearly hear Keiko and Wakana. In their magia lives, I have to strain my ears to hear Keiko's part while Wakana is too soft or loud my opinion. That being said I HAVE HOPE FOR THESE GIRLS! They HAVE CRACKED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR SONGS LIVE AND I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR THEIR MAGIA LIVE ON THE AFTER EDEN DVD ^_^b
@gabrirocks987 There was a lot of mixing applied to MAGIA in the studio recorded version. Also there is more bass track in the studio version compared to the lives presented.
I just thought the volume was wrong not their intonation 'the best singers can produce live version of magia equal to that of the recorded version.' This is very true with Kalafina and I agree with you . I tend to show my friends the live versions of their songs because most/some of them are even better than the recorded which is a very rare quality.
@OtaAgg Ya. This is just my own guess, but the great nuclear diseaster happened in Japan must be causing alot of stress on all Japanese. =(. Most probably affecting Kalafina members too.
I think what the producers do with the LIves on their DVDs equalize the volumes of each part and such so that the main vocals are head, followed by harmonies. In raw lives such as this the volume isn't quite right so we hear more of harmonies than the main vocal.
From their lives in the DVD's I don't believe their voices are altered from the Lives at all which shows their true talent. If you look at intermezzo , some of their opening capellas in their radio shows and the storia capella in one interview , it's crystal clear that they don't need autotuning , they are tuners themselves!
Well, in this kind of clips , sound is a bit "raw" , in their dvd´s , the sound is processed in a studio and it sounds perfect after that. In raw lives, Wakana´s voice is covered always by Keiko´s voice.
I still have faith in them and in their upcoming Eden DVD. If you look at Aria on NHK and their progressive live on some other TV programme they were sort of out of tune , it's their own DVD's that they really shine!

whitenette has reason , I don´t know why old videos are in tune and new videos are out of tune . Don´t you realise Wakana doesn´t sing like in old times?
Don't know why but all the recent videos of Kalafina singing Magia are out of tune... in the same places as well... This oblivious is out of tune too... more than any other past performances.
So far the most decent version of Magia is the one from LisAni 2010, followed by Afa. The magia fanclub one in LA sounded very good too!
