For the record, the post war mg42 and the mg3 had the option of replacing the high speed bolt carrier for one with more mass, and replaceing the spring loaded recoil assembly with a Browning style friction disc assembly, lowering the fire rate from 1200-1500 to a more economical and controlable 700. No 'blocks' guys.

Gooner is right, you can obviously tell it's shooting at 1200 rpm. Compare this video to "Mg42" videos. It's the same firing rate.

you think that is bad, try being on the receiving end of a minigun. 6,000 rounds per minute, thats 100 rounds per second.

but you need a mount for a minigun, like a helo or a humvee, and you cant always have those around, on the other hand, this can be carried by 1 infantry man at the least, and set up in places that would render a minigun bulky and somewhat useless. but i do see your point, the minigun is one scary beast :D

No he's not. According to the bundeswher it fires 1,150-1,300 rpm (1,200) usually.

ermm so im kinda did my basic training in the bundeswehr because errmm i kinda live in germany and errrm it doesnt fire 1,200 rpm because it has a block in it ;)

B-E-L-I-V-E ME the standart version of the bundeswehr is blocked down to 700rpm

the mg3 is not directly the mg42 dont mess that up!
