I'm 51 & I want one. Very cool. I just read that the 500 is coming to U.S. Made in Mexico. I hope Fiat does well. Little cars will never be mainstream in America untill we see European fuel prices. But let fuel go up another Dollar & the 500's will be right on time.
I know what you mean --- I just saw a hot blonde with a killer body and I want one too --- I dont care if she's made in Mexico or just down the road.I hope these new Fiat are not like the ones in the sixties and early seventies--- they were expensive rusty crap boxes.I think if GM gets their little cars out first Fiat wont stand a chance.
I was planning on buying a new car this spring, but now, after seeing this new 500 Abarth, I may just wait. This car would be a blast to drive in the twisty hills and mountains of California. It could not come soon enough for me.
what?? are you insane?? the matiz sucks, its like comparing a piece of fried chicken and jessica alba!! by the way this car looks exactly like the old fiat 500 (1936).. so probably the matiz may looks to you similar to the 500 and not the opposite..
I have heard that it may be sold in Canada through the BMW showroom network , but I would not hold my breath , as most of the cars we get in North America are Gas guzzling Garbage .
i own a classic mini, and still i would buy this 500 instead of the mini cooper s any day, and fiat might release a 180hp version of this with the grand punto engine, just too damn brutal. Anyway even if they dont, 150hp is more than needed on this little beast
Will do more, the petrol does 55 MPG combined and my Fiat Panda has the same diesel engine as the 500 and i've had 74 MPG! so yea, it's possible! Tempted by the Abarth though, can secure one with a deposit online but it's not coming to the UK till 2009.
Will this car be sold in America? I'm in the State of California and I want to buy one as soon as possible. I love this car!!! Thank you for posting this vehicle. How many miles per gallon does it get? is it classified as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle? I'm totally into the Greener is better, small cars and lots of miles per gallon. That's the new cool, in America now. I'm also buying an Aptera Plug-In Hybrid if they ever reach showrooms.
Fiat does not sell cars in the U.S. and hasn't for a long time. This car is just one of many nice looking ,exciting and efficient cars that are sold in europe that we don't get. We get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to what's available here. Ford and GM both have cars in europe but won't bring them here. We get old platforms (focus) while the continent gets the newest stuff.
Well, at least it wasn't a Fiat-850 they went and disfigured. Otherwise I'd be royally pissed.

Your cars a getting shittier by the day, If its hot weather all Audi, VW and BMW get overheated.
So be quiet,

The new ones will be light years ahead of the originals. Mexican or not. They are mighty small. Fuel needs to be around $3.50 for them to sell well.
kolbpilot 2 years ago
They are made up in Italy, and are produced in Poland!!!!!!!!!
CarDude501 2 years ago
I'm sure your right. Last year I read an article in the local paper stating that U.S. Fiats would be Mexican made.

Hey as I just read you Canadian love this car, it makes me pleasure. Much American and British just offending It hurts us cos we are proude of it.
The germans are very gealous. You know that this car is safer than a mini. And it looks good to

Don't worry... I heard GM is releasing a new 6.4L V8 engine... You can buy that one and sell your child to pay the gas.

You'll find it in Alfa romeo Showrooms. But I think you need to wait ~1.5 / 2 years :<

Is it true they will be built in the USA also?
D0nQuix0te 3 years ago
the partnership with chrysler 'll probably send some fiats and alfa romeo to the states.

The multijet 1.3 diesel version can do 4,5 litre for 100 km/s mixed use. If you drive without powering it will reach 3,9 litre / 100 km
about 1 gallon for (70 miles)
Ofcourse the hybrid is greener than a diesel
