It's called placebo. It has been used make people think that they are drunk, that they have a third arm, induce out of body experiences and belive that junk like this acctually works.
I had over a month of these "sessions"... 6 I believe. I had horrid anxiety and was desperate for anything to work, so yes -my mind was more than open. This "therapy" does nothing. It's like many other magical things people swear by - praying, card tricks... It's all in your head -the brain is a powerful organ and if you think something is healing / helping you, then your brain will likely do some work. You said the same thing basically -but bottom line -it's a scam.
@ObsOfAnEarthCitizen you are addicted to anxiety and desperation. nothing will help you until you learn to turn your thoughts to better feelings; it all comes from inside of you. many people are healped by therapeutic touch to learn to allow more positive feelings in their lives. it is a bridge for them. if you believe it is a scam, then you will get scams in your life.
Read man read! *I had* - past tense! As much as you're trying to help - no one needs generic life help advice. I wasn't addicted to anxiety - what kind of statement is that??? You have no clue what you're even talking about. Cut the hallucinogenic drugs and perhaps you'll sound like a logical rational person.
It is not unusual to feel like you have the flu after a healing session. As the energy is cleared, the muscles start relaxing and the built up toxins they held are released into the body. In a couple of days it will go away. Make sure you drink prenty of water to help with this process.
@susiesiouxsie focus on positive thoughts, really pay attention to how you feel, and when you notice anything negative, think something that will make you feel better. it is worries and anxiety that make you feel bad, and after a healing session you are more effected by your emotions. nothing outside you makes you feel happy or sad, it is all from inside.
My therapist sometimes , I don't want to say pressures me, but she "suggests" that I let her do "energy healing" on me... Today I let her. What a waste of a hundred bucks... After fifteen minutes of lying still, I fell asleep - this was not due to "energy healing"! Sure it was relaxing - I was lying down! with calming music! But no, this "technique" is not real and is in no way worth what they charge. A good massage is much cheaper far more effective. Don't waste your time / money!!!
I don't know if this is reiki as such but we all have the ability to use auric healing. Spiritual healing is different from reiki, it's not as powerful.
Reiki is one of the most relaxing, powerful and life changing experiences I've encountered. Using subtle energy you can feel it run through your body as a warmth or tingling sensation like static electricity. My health has so much improved and I would never touch any medication or drugs again. Subtle enegy is fine sound like energy and sound also has the ability to heal. I'd advise anyone to give it a once or twice go.
I had cancer 20 years ago when I was five years old. I'm in total remission now and I no underlying health conditions, but I have a chronic back pain from lumber punctures; do you think this form of healing could work for me?
We are working with a local hospital with their Oncology Patients around their chemo and radiation treatments as well as before and after surgery. on a 10 point scale patients with pain start out avg of 6 and after one session it is at about 1.5. On the same scale for anxiety, they start at an average of 6.5 and at 1.7 after one session.
There is a growing body of research around this type of healing. One hos[ital did a study with 300 heart bypass surgery patients, the ones that received 3 healing sessions around the surgery, left the hospital in 6 days rather than 7 days for the patients with out the sessions. That hospital now offers the sessions with all surgeries
@Kuroneko822 That is a common idea. In the Lab when they design experiments is hard to design around. So one way to do that is to do distant healing work on plants. Hard for a plant at a distant location to have a placebo response. What we are finding is that plants that have had leaves cut off and stuck in potting soil and have distant healing given 20 minutes twice a day, are able to stay alive and healthy (and is some cases grow new roots where those kind plants "can't" grow)
@Kuroneko822 Have you ever had a session from someone who has had significant training? I am going to guess not. It is hard to describe what it is like, but probably different from what you would expect. Give it a try sometime then repost a comment. :-)
@bzeljn i had a free one years ago. it was sure nice. I will not forget it. personally I am a skeptic, but how i felt after and forever was sure nice. I only wish i could have afforded more.
no bzejin. look up for healing report on times magazine, 2002. and mayo clinic and dana farbers report on energy healing, the debate comes about if it is energy involved, not if it works or not, in fact, many people have recovered from serious or even life threatening conditions using these techniques. here is more about creating a unified approach that could be universal. qigong, reiki... etc, energy therapies, no doubt, work, the true question is: is energy involved?
I watch this video all the time! Especially at night when I need to relax and feel refreshed before going to bed. I love watching her movments. This was a very well done session. You should post more like this one.
There probably is no true physical effect but he psychological benefits are helpful. It calms you and helps you focus. You may even be able to put some sort of string theory to it if you really wanted to but whatever.

tbh i dont believe much into this sort of thing but i am curious why i always get goosebumpsfrom seeing these kind of things? its like a chill sort of...cool? :s
it's empathy. it's a relaxing treatment and the touch of human hands is soothing, so you're imagining that you're in the person's place and getting those benefits secondhand ^_^ i get goosebumps from these videos too, i watch them to fall asleep.
to STUNT. that's interesting cause the same thing happens to me. i get tingles and goosebumps too when i watch videos like this one. i don't understand why since it's not actually be performed on me or to me, i'm just watching it. i wonder why that is?
thank you John for your reply. i appreciate your insight as to why i get tingles & goosebumps while watching this video (& others similar to it). the way you explained it makes so much sense to me. like your analogy about praying from a distance. if you don't mind me asking you, do you feel energy healing would help me with my severe depression & also a chonic & serious head/nerve condition that i suffer from? i'm so sick of all the meds i'm on & am open to altenative treatments. thanks again :)
p.s. John, i forget to add -- i watch this video often (usually before i go to bed) cause even though i'm not the one getting the energy healing session (as mentioned & explained in your last comment to me) just watching it soothes and relaxes me sooooo much. i've even fallen asleep at the computer watching this video. lol. not to say that it's boring, it's just so amazingly relaxing!!! i'd love to try this one day, seems great! i think i'll look into someone who can do this where i live.
i get the same thing watching medical videos. anything slow & methodical has a calming/relaxing effect. but ive watched all of those already now i want something similar : hey presto alternative healing!
i doubt any of this stuff is ACTUAL PSYCHIC HEALING or whatever its just relaxing. otherwise theres a lot of doctors on youtube with a talent they didnt realise...which is quite unlikely
I don't particularly believe in this sort of thing either. I do, however believe in the effectiveness of a good placebo, as well as relaxation. I've also yet to try it, so I'm willing to keep an open mind, for now.
Might have been learned somewhere else, but looks like a slightly modified (and very fast) healing as taught in the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. If you can afford in, they teach in Europe and Japan, as well as the USA.
The school is CoreStar Energy Healing School in Mission, KS (Kansas City). It was founded by Jim Crabtree, a Barbara Brennan graduate. The energy of the healing session is actually being sensed while watching it. The same way we can do a healing or pray for someone at a distance.
