  • I went and it was pretty creepy!

  • @LOUISANUNEZ Cool, Yeah when I was climbing onto one of the little hills I felt the ground trembling below....creeped me out...Hehe

  • Dude, I love the closeup sequence starting 1:25.

What road do you take to get out there?

    Are there signs?

  • from Niland head South on Highway 111 to Schrimph Rd turn right and take this dirt road 3 Miles or so and you'll see the mud mounds on your right. it doesnt look very impressive from the road, but when you get in there you hear little eruptions and bubbling all over the place. there are no signs telling you of the mudpots, they are easy to find. you can see them on Google Earth.

  • How cool is that! Been to Salton Sea several times and never knew these existed.

  • Awesome!

  • anyplace to soak or is it too hot

  • No, but there is a warm spring about 25 miles south of the Mud Pots called Five Palms.

  • Awesome. I love the Salton Sea mudpots.

  • This is cool

  • Saw this in another video somewhere not too long ago. Neat stuff going on there. Wonder if that mud has any medical benefits to it?

  • I dont know, but they are using that area for Geothermal power production....I saw three generating stations off in the distance.

  • the geothermal plants are really cool looking. there are three more or less identical ones.
