from Niland head South on Highway 111 to Schrimph Rd turn right and take this dirt road 3 Miles or so and you'll see the mud mounds on your right. it doesnt look very impressive from the road, but when you get in there you hear little eruptions and bubbling all over the place. there are no signs telling you of the mudpots, they are easy to find. you can see them on Google Earth.
I went and it was pretty creepy!

No, but there is a warm spring about 25 miles south of the Mud Pots called Five Palms.

I dont know, but they are using that area for Geothermal power production....I saw three generating stations off in the distance.
