If Tidus spent less time being a whiny little brat and more of a badass like his father I bet you any money the theme would have went something like this... giving the game a more identifiable "extreme sports" feel like I saw Square KIND of touch on in Final Fantasy X, with Blitz Ball, instead of the same, tired, derivative emotional and cathartic love story approach to the game.
