gsp is my fav but he is no way the 09 fighter of the year. gsp was a pussy in 09 and hasnt had a ko in years. fedor deserves it simply because he killed rogers and arlovski with the same punch. plus gsp is afraid to fight anderson. fedor is not appreciated by the people but he will when he retires and people realise that he was the greatest ever in mma

Yes, Andrson Silva is overrated. Natural HW in MW division just funny. Silva is 189 cm fights with guy who 170-175 cm are. :))

UFC purchased this award to keep GSP as the company "good guy" face. GSP's greasing and ducking the Silva make GSP less impressive than Sliva, Penn, Aldo, Machida, or Shogun. GSP also won Canadian Athlete of the Year, UFC fighter of the Year, and MMAjunkie fighter of the year - all purchased awards by the UFC to make GSP what Liddell was - a white, marketable, mainstream pleaser - not best fighter, especially this year. Listen to Kenny's excuse - GSP because he fights in the UFC - lol.

Dude get over it BJ got destroyed period. He wasn't even close and he QUIT like a bitch. Silva was so inconsistent the whole year, Aldo still very unfamiliar, Machida shouldn't win because of his performance against Shogun and Shogun struggled against Coleman. Fedor only fought 1 time last year so I dont think you can give it to him. Penn can't get over the GSP hump. GSP has been the most consistent this year just admit it but BJ really looked impressive lately though and Brock is still unproven

Fedor fought twice, against Arlovski and Rogers. Btw Silva also fought twice and i think Lesnar also fought once or twice.. just saying. The award could have gone to any one of Fedor, GSP and Silva though and it would have been a fair choice because they were all dominant.

Its fighter of the year of 2009. If you really thin Fedor looked good in his fights, you need to wake up. I know he won but he didnt look like or earn fighter of the year.
