when u play 19th cent music u need to play with some knowledge of 19th cent performance practice. I felt all this was too unindividual and hopelessly unshaded dynamically.there r secrests all thru this music. No rubatos such little real sense of dynamic shades .the music is not there.listen to PachmannPaderwskiIm' only 40 but i know wht this music needs.Oldfashioned aesthetics.
you are right to some degree. I dont know why you got a thumbs down.
I agree, with music such as Brahms', it needs so much more colour, alot more depth and raw emotion. None of that comes through in this performance. Adequately played, yet doesnt got far enough to be brahms in itself.
