How can I play PS2 games on PS3? Do I have to have the original game or is it ok if I download it from the internet?

@Endlesslove1974 you should download ps2 system data on playstationstore and if this is a 40GB it wont work , it either should be 60GB or 80GB or 160GB but no 320GB alright and you should have the original game no downloads from the internet

there are said to be a glitch on the wall on the left of the bathroom, its said a black stain grows throughout the game and when it s done growling, its the shape of a face. So it looks like someone's face is in the wall, if u play this game, look out for it!

This happens on my 60gb, nearly all the doors go funny colours or are see through.

Is it fixable?

As far as I know, no. The only solution would be to play it on a regular PS2. It's a bit disappointing, but at least it's not as severe as losing game data, or something similar.

Thats what i've taken to do, but on an HD tv it tends to look horrible without smoothing or upscaling :(

@ChaosStep This does not happen on a 60gb ps3. If it's happening on yours it means you have an 80gb ps3. Either the motorstorm or mgs4 bundled ps3. I have both a 60 and 80 and already made a video addressing this problem.

The 60gb can play 97% ps2 games without issue.

The 80gb can play 56% ps2 games without issue.

@MetalExtensionTV The PS2 system data is not for memory cards. It is so that you can play ps2 hardrive based games such as Final Fantasy 11.

I want this game sooo badly, i don't care if there are little glitches as long as i can play it. I too only have ps3 so as long as it doesn't screw up the game play, im a happy camper :3

Just make sure you have an older PS3 model, since the newer ones don't support PS2 games.

It's an unnecessary expense on Sony's part, when the PS2 is still going strong. They're actually cutting out a lot of the PS3's original features in order to accommodate for the reduced cost.

Current PS3 models are unable to play PS2 games, so, unless you have one of the first models, the only way to play the game would be to use a PS2.

Oh didn't kno it was a ps2 game.. Hmmm this is bad I hav a dilemma. I can download it for my chipped ps2&make my brothere pissed that im playin it on my ps2 when he just brought me a ps3 this Xmas or I can fork out £32 &buy silent hill for Ps3 to make him happy wat shall I do

The game runs fine. The only glitches are similar to the ones in the video, and they are purely visual in nature; they don't disrupt the game at all.

So if you can bear those little visual jumps, you should be good.

The fourth game is the one that was released exclusively in Japan. It's a shame.

How old is this game? Is ti a short or a long game?

I like horror games, I just bought Siren blood curse, but thinking if its a short game I'll exchange it.

The first three Fatal Frame games are about eight-ten hours long, maybe a little more. They're for the PS2, but if you have an older PS3 you can play PS2 titles on it. They have bonus stuff and alternate endings, too.

Blood Curse should be average length, though I haven't played it. There aren't a lot of horror games for the PS3. If you can, I'd recommend the older Silent Hill games.

All of these games are several years old and may be hard to find.

I have the new ps3 so that means I can't play ps2 games, but I don have a ps2 as well.

You were saying that fatal frame 4 was release in Japan, but I am able to find Japanese region games here, so maybe I'll get it, but is it for ps3?

1more ques, I got siren uk version, but there is also a Japanese version and the name is a little different, siren blood curse and siren new translation, is it possible that the game play will be different?

Are the PAL and Japanese Sirens disc-based? If so, I don't think you'd be missing out on anything. It's the same game, but the title was changed for the different territories.
