Toronto BJJ is under Saulo and so they each come for a week, 2 times a year or more.
Galvao was here for a fight, and our main BJJ instructor was away for a few weeks so the guy who runs the school got Galvao to each classes in his absence.
Andre Dida and Mauricio Veio are our regular Muay Thai teachers.
Great interview! I feel star struck just watching the video haha.
I can't believe he had never been in a street fight. His striking far outshines the majority of BJJ-to-MMA guys out there. He must train like a beast or have assloads of talent. Can't wait to see him fight again.
Doliveij I didnt know you train with Amade and Xande! Thats big bruv! Carlsons has Simon Hayes and Wilson on a regular but having a ADCC and Mundials guy come in meanwhile he's still in his prime is nice.
a very, very intelligent man. His theorys ring a bell with me. i agree completely

I was going to train w/ his brother Saulo Riberio back in 04' until my whole idea of an MMA career got threw off . . . :-(

xande is such a nice guy he held back his laughter when asked if kasten would ever score a point on him in the gi lol
let me answer that for you boys.. in 100 matches the tally would read
xande- 100
karsten- ZERO
:)

I was really hoping you were gonna roll with him at the end of the video in an MMA Analyst vs. Xande Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Match :-)
But I was wondering...what is bringing these guys to Canada?

It's a trip. Not many can say they've met the "best" in any field.
I am definitely fortunate right now.

Yeah. I train there. Have been there since Sept. 2007. Mauricio Veio just came back and is teaching Muay Thai with his brother Andre Dida.
Galvao taught all this week and Xande was there for a week, 2 weeks ago.
Needless to say, it's been a great month.

BJ Penn was the World Champion for a few weight classes lower.
Xande is the heavyweight and Absolute Champion.
Xande BJJ > BJ Penn BJJ (imho)

u should use the belt analogy for the "best interview ever" question with the andre..
that way he can give u a white belt....
...with 3 stripes...
LOL.... jokes...
xande is wicked
