The biggest shame is that China's government is demolishing the country's entire history. Even the high school history textbooks have a load of stuff removed.
Is that true? If so, then its quite disturbing to hear about. I thought we would atleast be able to count on China to stay true to itself. Europe and America is already lost. Our cultures and people will cease to exist within a 100 years. So a small comforting thought for me was that atleast China with its capable citizens and proud culture would take care of the world. But if you're saying China is getting torn apart, like us... then I might just get really depressed.
I live in the US s for the past 58 years I have been happily married to a Chinese lady for the past 47 years. She is a Jew by choice, knows classical hebrew and visited Israel, she participates regularly in the religious services by chanting parts of the Torah of the conservative Beth El Congregation of Montgomery County in Maryland . , USA.
But you know what? I think there is one very good thing with different ethnic group making Aliyah to Israel. It changes the face of modern Judaism. It makes Judaism more pluralistic, multicultural and inclusive. Then maybe Chinese Jews going back to Israel is not such a laughable thing after all. Maybe this gradual change will even be good for the peace process...
You know, Chinese Jews, just the sound of that make me laugh so hard. I am Chinese myself by the way. I think their intention to immigrate to Israel is so that they can leave China and immigrate to the west easier if they want to
@doglin82 Nothing wrong in seeking a better life. Converting to Judaism is not a easy thing to do. Judaism is all about living a good and blessed life. So if these people wish to become Jewish for a better life, they will be loved by us.
@doglin82 : Hey woof-woof... These lovely people (in video) could have entered Canada as much as you. Go eat your Gravy Train and get a life outside Budha.
@Hatorah haha i am an atheist like most Chinese. Btw, it is not called gravy train. It is called Poutine. I travelled in Israel for 2 weeks this past December. I love that country. But honestly though, doesn't anyone in Israel even doubt the intention or sincerity of anyone who made the Aliyah?
@doglin82 You are cynical and mean- hearted. Do a little research and you will find that these people have very deep Jewish roots.Go laugh somewhere else.
@Rockwellbabe2 Deep roots, yep, we all have deep roots tracing back to an ape. :)
how am i mean spirited? I am just stating the facts. Cynical, YES, absolutely. Doesn't the torah encourage debate, question and cynicism? Is it not the great rabbi Mainmonides that once said be more cynical, for the thirst for knoweldge is a mitzvah?

כתבה מצוינת- אבל עשוי כאן טעות אחת. קייפנג נמצאת דרומית לבייג'ינג, ולא צפונית אליה (ביקרתי בשני המקומות).
