Yea it does. The species that climbs is Toxicodendron radicans (or just T. radicans), and the kind you find along the ground that's about ankle height is T. rydbergii. You live in the US, so when you see a weedy patch in a forest/wood area, take a look around you. It's EVERYWHERE. He's a sneaky little guy too and may come up through cracks in the concrete and be in your walking path.

What you probably mean is -- you are not sensitive to the oils. The allergic reaction is actually caused by the immune response to it, so you are lucky to not have an immune response to the oil.

My dad was immune to the stuff. He used to show off by rubbing the leaves on himself and even putting them in his mouth. Not me, I can start itching just looking at it!

I have Poison IVY right now, that is the reason why i did some research...

Now it's on my legs, and in my back.

I have no Health Insurance, so I am just going to see if i can heal in my own... let my body fight the shit out of POISON IVY.

At times it seems is going away, but it comes back stronger and very itchy. GOD..........

i had poison ivy where the sun don't shine lol it was f...ing horrible, it was the most unpleasant thing ive ever had to endure and probably will be till the day i die... im sorry Campusmang but i don't think dawn could of cured that.. I was giving prednisone i believe it was.. and the swelling and itching went away in like 2 days

I have gotten this I do not like it at all i though i have spider bites on my leg so i scratched a little bit and 6 days later its on my butt.. arms and legs i have it i wish i knew how to cure it I've bought this lotion but it doesn't seem to work can someone reply to this message if you have a cure?

make sure you wash your skin entirly.

Do not to fogot to wash any clothing or anything that may have com in contact with the plant as well

If you don't know that you've come into contact with poison ivy, you're in trouble. For most of us, once the oils from the plant penetrate your skin no amount of soap, ajax, or bleach will stop your body from reacting to it. I know, I've been unfortunate enough to get it three times! In my case, poison ivy infects me so bad that if I'm not able to get steroids from the doctors, I'm sure my arms and legs would need to be amputated!

I've seen this stuff on my parent's land. For tax exemption reasons we had a gov't official come out and inspect our trees to see if they were fit and met regulations... etc. He stated that my parent's should start a poison ivy nursery. If you haven't seen the vine, remember these words, "leaves of three, let be." Even if you're immune, you can become allergic after repeated exposure.

A little science for you global warming dummies. Increased carbon dioxide has been known to help virtually ALL PLANT GROWTH. Poison Ivy is a PLANT. Voila, yes, you dummies, it will grow better too. Now, back to why we keep hearing about only the negative effects of faster plant growth. Answer: AGENDA.
