What will replace the Space Shuttle after 2011 ? Now that reseach on Ares I and Ares is disappointly cancelled.. This is so wrong ! How will the USA get to space after 2011?! Please find the money ! Ares I-X worked !! The developement should go on !!!

Nothing... the white house wants nasa to build a new rocket, but not to go to the moon. That means the USA is going to have to rely on russia to get into space.

NASA will depend on private space companies such as SpaceX to launch there astronauts into LEO and beyond. It will turn out to be much cheaper to depend on private space companies rather than depending on the gov't to loan money to NASA.

Who do you think built the spacer shuttle? Apollo? the Atlas delta and ares rockets?

Private contractors. They build it, give it to NASA. NASA launches it, everything is hunky dory.

Also, boeing, Atlas rocket systems, rocket dyne, North american, grumman, lockheed martin, northrop etc All of them are private contractors who sell to the government. So price will be the same.

@kurt30001 Don't fret too much. That still has to go through congress. Who is showing A LOT of resistance to cancelling ARES after so much money has been spent and the demonstration of the flight. Just cause Obama says so, doesn't mean it will happen.
