  • I remember he went to Italy and it didn't work out. He said "..It was like living in a foreign country"

Great player. Not the sharpest tool in the box though

  • best welsh striker ever or i would even dare to say best welsh player ever!

  • Its funny in all these years watching Rush and Fowler.. I never noticed quite how much influence Rush had on Fowler till this vid, just now...

  • His left foot wasnt given the credit it deserved.

  • ahhh yes Rushie.. my very first British footballing hero..

  • Although his finishing was phenomenal, the game has changed so much that goalkeepers and defenders are much faster and alot tighter these days.

  • @TheSoundOfKwan 'Legend' doesn't imply current status, it's all about history. What would football be if all the 'greatest' players lost ceredibility as soon as football noticeably evolved?

  • @theboygrabbi I'm not questioning his status, just lamenting how hard it is, even for far superior replacements, to achieve the same kind of results.

  • @TheSoundOfKwan

If Darren Bent can succeed today then so could Ian Rush.. Only Rush was always a better player.. Bent shows the out and out goalscorer is not quite yet dead in the Premiership, today. Rush was before his time, in some ways.. like the way he was Liverpool's first line of defence. Today its normal for strikers to put in a shift like this.

  • thumbs up if you saw KING KENNY at 2:10

  • one of the best strikers in english footbal history. this guy should get an award for his contribution to liverpool fc history. ian rush was simply the best player in his british football generation.

  • The first Liverpool game i ever saw was the Rush hatrick at Aston Villa on a cold friday night. Favourite liverpool player ever.He didn't even need to take pens to push his goal tally up like that manc twat van nistelrooy.

  • LEGEND!!!

  • Rush would be a legend outside of Anfield if he were just a bit more handsome...some great goals here.

  • 04:46 GENIUS !!

  • 6 yard poacher no way. They can't of seen many of his goals tbh/NAIVE

  • Fantastic player. I will always remember that hatrick he scored against Aston Villa, in the yellow away shirt. What made it even better the pitch at Villa Park was semi frozen and bobbly as!

  • I remember non Liverpool fans saying he was just a six yard poacher. There was more than a few outside that area, in this footage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • super buteur d type van basten

  • The first footballer to be Sponsored by Nike.

  • I will maintain to this day that Rush scored 50 GOALS in the 83-84 season - the last coming from the penalty spot in Rome ;-)

  • Most goals for Liverpool, most FA Cup final goals, most league cup goals, most league cup wins, most Mersey derby goals, most goals for Wales, European golden shoe winner, 47 goals 83-4. Rush-Dalglish combination the most deadly in British football..

  • PaulCashin1 have a fucking word with yourself. Kenny Dalglish said it as a wind-up after a press conference - Rushie never actually said it. I don't think even YOU are that stupid.
