Please help, in the summer of '82, I'd a £9.99 Space Invaders copy. The handheld was yellow plastic with a red fire button, and a little chrome lever for player positioning. The figures were digital ( turquoise and red i think) , an alien craft would fly overhead, and the highest score was 199. It played the Star Wars theme. Any ideas what it was called?
@SuperDave341 Thanks. I have Atari Arcade for the old Xbox in a box somewhere in my flat. I'm hoping Atari Berserk is on it cos I can't play the free online one on the keyboard. My wrists hate it.
this game fucking sucked. its so old and ugly. the graphics are pathetic. listen to the sound affects and the tarzan noise when he jumps on a rope. so fucking pathetic. look at the pixelated graphics it makes me sick and you people worship this crap and say its awesome and the best game ever. fuck you all and your gay bald glasses wearing asses. the only people who play this kind of horrible game are old bald men with glasses with no money and listen to classical music old fucking shit ugly game
I guess you want to be hear... The only thing I can say is that you are not a retro gamer and you hate any past game. When halo 3 or gears of war will be 10 year old , I guess you will hate them as much as this game
You can also play this version by using the GB version in a Super Game Boy. It was amazing that a GB cart had a full SNES game tucked away in it. Cool, huh?
Still, it was cool that you could play either the GB version, or the full screen SNES release on a GB cart. I don't know of any other GB cart to do that.
But yeah, it was still only an older arcade title, not like plugging in Mario Land into a Super GB and being able to play, say, Mario World.
@shadowledastray Yeah, especially considering there was only the gameboy version that used the Super Gameboy border graphics. It's not a whole game. -facepalm-
@3GenGames It's not a very large game by any means, but the alternate full screen mode available when using a Super Gameboy was later released on SNES as a stand alone title. So in that sense the GB boy offered more than its Super NES counter part (you could also play in standard Super GB mode with borders, etc)
u showed yourself getting owned

I use ZSNES emulator to play the old SNES games.
I use MAME (obviously) for the old arcade games and Kega Fusion for the old Sega Genesis/Megadrive games.
Aah the memories.
I'm 41 by the way.
Defender is the best video game ever made. Fact.

the SNES version is as hard as the arcade. The Game Boy Version is much more easier

The SNES version was much more the arcade perfect version of the classic game. Even the Atari 2600 could handle it.

Space invaders is indeed a funky game, aah the good old days. I still prefered Galagar for the Amiga, that game ruled!
