For the record, the blood is to please the dwarvern god of blood, Armok. Spread the blood, Armok will be happy, and spare you from tons of consecutive goblin seiges acompanied by trolls. In other words, spread other's blood or spread your own blood.

If trading becomes an issue with a caravan that has something you absolutely need, it's possible to smash the trade depot before the caravan leaves, which will cause the caravan to drop all their items and leave, though some consider it an exploit and thus cheating.

It's also a good way to rob the elves (because nobody likes them.) without starting a war. Or you could just build a fortress of soap to spite them.

Really odd that they'd refuse to trade even after you offered them a 40% profit. You might have given them much more in an earlier year (maybe 50 or 60%), and they were expecting similar results this year.

@Katalliaan Well last time they only made ~150 dwarf-bucks, so I don't think they had too much profit. I think that their broker was legendary or something, because EpicCheeseGrater is already really talented at trade skills.
