@spiekerfreak I did that only to show that the stand is capable of doing it. I'm well aware that it was very high. But I will admit that more than one time I have had to raise speakers that high for certain events (in fact the example I showed at the wedding. It looked like the speaker was the same level as the audience. That's true, but the legs of the stand were MUCH farther down). It's nice to know you're covered if you HAVE to. The stand is rated at 150lbs up to 9'2".
@Maxsdiscos That's exactly right. And truthfully my less-than-graceful attempt to get the speaker down was due to that dolly! I forgot it had left it right there. And the first time I ever did this years ago I was worried about the adapter part of the stand that pulls out for the speaker mount. These stands are rock solid. Thanks for watching.
good tips! i would hate to have a hundred pound speaker, rather bring double the k10s or eons. i think im gonnna be calling you guys next week for some crank stands for lighting.
@sainifabulous I'm actually still glad that I have the 1521's, or 152i's for that matter. You know I'm a K-Series fanboy, but there are times that you need a speaker like this for certain applications. Give us a buzz, Ranj!
@BassIsLoadedDJ Yes sir! I did an event for about 1200 people on Saturday, and it was the first time I used all 5 of my QSC speakers. I had two K8s running EXT SUB, and my 181i on the stage with me, and my 152is at FULL RANGE on the back corner of the auditorium. As much as I love the K Series stuff, and are sold on them for the smaller venues, sometimes you need a different kind of KICK! The HPR series is a totally different monster! Much more fuller sound.
Wow! Thanks so much for the in depth answer to my question. This is pretty darn awesome! For a middle school gym jock whose only concern is how to keep little johnny from tackling the speaker, they might not appreciate it. for a wedding dj who has to set up on the hillside of a golf course, this is perfect!
I thought that the qsc 152i's were the biggest on the block. Rick, you are a BEAST!!! Throwing that puppy around like it was a K8! I AIN'T MESSIN' WITH YA!
@BOBBYBLENDZ Thanks Bobby. That was 5 minutes of fame for ya! The thing I'm impressed with about you (and dj's that are like you) is that it doesn't matter if you're a middle school gym jock, or a wedding dj, or a sound guy, a newbee, or a 30-year vet...we all should be asking questions, we all should be learning, and looking for ways to be better. I'm very skeptical of know-it-all's. Thanks for watching my channel Blendz.
Man,when i got back into this after taking nearly a decade off, i thought that it would be like riding a bike. A few club spots, and mobiles later, i was lost and my product was average at best. If not for youtube, i'd have packed it in again. my thing is simple, find the guys you would like to pattern yourself after, and bug them constantly! hahaha. too bad they usually don't answer. you're right about the fame! i had to show the family that you said my name... hehehee
these are great speaker stands. I have a hard time opening them up tho. but they worth spending the money on

can you put a speaker up the same way that you just took it down?
applman2 1 year ago
@applman2 Yes you can actually. Again, not what the manufacturer of the stand would say to do, but it does work.

Rik,
as long as you are holding the speaker handles, it is safe.
