The HOA threatened to have us fined for a zone violation for having an illegal garage operation just because my roommate would sit outside and work on his car in the driveway.
The solution is simple. Either everyone in the community remove every decal, sticker, or anything else that wasn't on the car when it rolled off the assembly line, or that homeowner's association faces a First Admendment suit. This does have something to do with the sticker being "Marine", it is more of the liberal bias coming through. Makes me want to move back to Dallas County to sit on that jury!

As a former Marine, I think that association stickers should be allowed, but the rules probably said simply, "no stickers at all" to be clear. That said, this guy voluntarily moved in there and should have read all the rules first. However he may have a case as the rules may not have been enforced equally. I doubt if this rule applies to visiting vehicles. There is usually a 48-72 hour cutoff for visitors.

Many civic associations will not permit "business vehicles" to park overnight, but this restriction is limited to ice cream trucks, pizza delivery cars & etc. That is not the same as a personal vehicle which displays political sentiments or other personal statements such as school and service decals or things like "I love my pit bull." Furthermore, this Homeowners' Association knows damned well that what they have tried to do is a violation of the gentleman's civil rights.

Many civic associations will not permit "business vehicles" to park overnight, but this restriction is limited to ice cream trucks, pizza delivery cars & etc. That is not the same as a personal vehicle which displays political sentiments or other personal statements such as school and service decals or things like "I love my pit bull." Furthermore, this Homeowners' Association knows damned well that what they have tried to do is a violation of the gentleman's civil rights.

I'm sorry, but Marine stickers are not advertising. There's very few people who have served in the Marines that are not proud of it.
