i have a maine coon and they are great cats, but if you are worried about shedding a tabby such as this one may be better because they have shorter hair than a maine coon.

I'm actually severely allergic to cats but have always loved them, and I read that Devon and COrnish Rex cats have very fine hairs, so they don't shed alot, and they're supposedly hypo-allergenic. They've got great personalities too :)
