I first heard them on Chillville on 101X in Austin.

Well this song is really great in many ways. I heard of Radio Dept. on compilations some years ago only by sheer luck as they were featured in a video game (The Darkness) with their compatriots on a label called Labrador. Their music is very sublime and accessible in a way that really doesn't require a whole lot of words to explain. For me the subtle the meloncholy lyrics and uncomplicated instruments brings out a certain charm of it all. Just like an unbridled innocence from days of yore.

They are an old country that still value the simpler things and certainly if something works, you stick with it. I just have this complex about America with so many people, why are we so content with such garbage in terms of consumable media? @carlo88moe America is the largest consumers on media and in large part dictate what pop culture has to say. I honestly don't think it's the stuff they like on the average. To that end, I'm kind of glad this is a small hit wonder. They aren't tainted by the over managed, over sampled and engineered stuff America is use to and we're fine by that. Too much success can also corrupt a good thing going as well.
