it's just a square wave at the moment unfortunately. the real magic happens when you plug in the MIDI. i should probably just use MIDI in all the vids from now on so people get the big picture.
i've thought about sculpting the square wave into a sinusoidal wave using a smoothing cap or something, but the main problem would still remain, which is that the audio needs to be polyphonic. i know there are a lot of monophonic synths out there, but these harps need to be able to play chords! -p

I really like this idea!
What kind of wave are you getting?
I nice sine wave would sound good.
Maybe even an lfo and other synth mods would be cool. Good work man!
