  • This is exquisite stuff. Thank you for uploading this. I have only just started listening to jazz music and trying to explore the Masters as well as more recent stuff. Google does give me a list of artists I could listen to, but I was wondering if some of you discerning jazz aficionados could recommend a few artists that I should start with. I have heard some John Coltrane and Dave Brubeck aside from Miles Davis so far. Thanks in advance.

  • @tanganyika9 Try Charles Mingus, Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Art Blakey, Clifford Brown, Hank Mobley, and Max Roach. That should give you a good place to start.

  • @filmlitmusic Thank you. Really appreciate it.

  • @tanganyika9 No problem. I'm not really a true expert, but I have listened to my fair share of jazz. Always nice to see other new fans out there. Enjoy!

  • @KalliopePL It was Miles' date, but for some crazy contractual reason, he 'gave' the leader-title to Cannonball. But, 'so what'. It's great.

  • soo tempted to be an asshole and dislike lol

  • No dislikes...yet only 19,340 views? Its not that the modern generation dislikes this soulful and simply soul warming music, its the fact that the large majority of this generation are not introduced to it.

  • If you don't know this song it's because you're not a jazzman ^^
