For the few lives guns save they cost a lot more. Im in Canada and my city has 250,000 people. We havent had a shooting in 3 years. In those 3 years there has been 50 armed robberies with a gun, and none resulted in a shooting. Less guns is better.

There isn't anything wrong with having coal factories, its coal energy plants that supposedly cause a problem. CO-2 really isn't the problem though. These laws provide protection to the people of the United States against tyranny and the abuse of power. Mike12 - Um, there are regulations for car safety. They are called licenses. If you have a license, you are not legally allowed to drive, but some people still do. I just thought I would explain that to you bc it seems like you dont get it. Also, there are insurance requirements in case you harm someone else.

If the convicted felon has already done his time yes. If he's committed murder then presumably they should have been put to death or incarcerated for life. The 2nd article of the Bill of Rights is indiscriminate. It was written in a broad sense because it was meant in a broad sense. All people have the right to protect themselves, regardless of past instance. That is what made common law great, the Jury decided the amount of time the person was to serve or if the law even applied at all.

If the government would stop allowing the abuse of the courts for criminals to prosecute those that defend themselves. I doubt there would be as much crime as there is now in this country. Being from the UK you should know that violent crime rate went up about 200 percent after they took the guns away from the law abiding citizens. The criminals still have guns. In the US guns stop over 2,000,000 crimes a year with shots being fired in only about 93 percent of incidences. Over 190,000 of those crimes being stopped are stopped by women about to be raped. Fact is, more guns less crime, less guns more crime. Look at New York City, Chicago, and California.

Anyone who needs an assault weapon is a pussy, anyone who absolutely needs a handgun probably doesn't know that much about guns at all. To defend ones home all one needs is a normal hunting rifle and allot of practice. It only takes one good shot to take down a bad guy. And one poor shot to kill a family member accidentally. ...hey america, let's use fells naptha soap instead of cheer. it's better for the environment. let's raise our own chickens or buy our fish & meat (if you must eat meat) at a local butchery instead of at safeway. or better yet, let's go hunting, only for what we need, ONCE A YEAR. let's buy clothes second hand instead feeding niemann marcus & macy's. better yet, find a local seamstress & tailor and have them make you some threads. you want small gov't? start with small biz & self reliance

anyway, no one is taking guns. lighten up america. let's become energy independent & let's growing our own veggies. let's manufacture our own goods so we can have a GDP. let's BUY american & stop shopping at walmart. let's make our own soap. let's exercise, eat right & sleep well so we aren't dependent on Ca+ channel blockers & loop diuretics. let's drive diesels & use bio so we can buy used oil from the greasy spoon instead of exxon...
