  • There are too many "ordinary men" who've gotten or are getting the shaft on both sides of the Atlantic. I was telling my Uncle the other night that he was lucky. Worked 40 years in a factory and retired right before they closed the factory in Kansas City and opened one in China.

  • Christy Moore, would you allow us to use your brilliant music for our documentary film, wonderful music, can we talk? Please write, I will tell you all about it. Thank you Thank you......Jilly M.

  • Hi Mr.Jullins. I am the person who posted this video. I posted it because it is a song about capitalism in my opinion and how the "man" always seems to get his and the real man that did all the work to get it for him is left standing out in the rain! I posted this song because it has a message, not because I thought it was Christy's message, for god's sake people, HE DIDN'T EVEN WRITE IT! He is simply giving props to a song writer that deserves it. Lighten up and give them both a little credit!!

  • @elixermixer Don't explain your self to anyone why? 1,025,955 views love this song and i am one...

  • @talkingshitfool I can assure you of a few of things. 1. I have zero control over whether or not Youtube chooses to place ads on videos. 2. I am not profiting in any way shape or form from this video or any others I have posted on this site or any other. AND 3. I don't appreciate the accusation or the name calling. But thanks for your passion.

  • @elixermixer I apologise if I offended you in anyway, the accusation was hypothetical though hence the "I'm not sure how... and the "If" As I said I don't know how youtube works cuz I'm not an uploader, I just remember getting a mail before from youtube. "Your video... has become popular on YouTube, and you're eligible to apply for the YouTube Partnership Program, which allows you to make money from playbacks of your video" hence the reasons for me assuming that you may be making money.

  • @elixermixer I might be wrong, but last time I checked, you can opt in or opt out of the adverts. Hence why some videos have them and some don't. I think the guy made a valid point.

  • @DancinJim That may or may not be true, I am not a youtube expert. Regardless of whether or not you can opt out of the adverts does not change the fact that I AM NOT PROFITING from the adverts and quite honestly... I resent the accusation. I simply posted a video to a song that I like. If I were doing it for profit I am sure there are songs that get far more hits on youtube than this one.

  • @talkingshitfool

elixermixer is a nice man. i dnt know him personally but i know thats fact. lol

and your a twat anyway,, with a screen name like yours do you expect to ever be taken seriously? you really are a fool who is talking shit.

but other than that your a lovely man.

  • @GarethHeverin I just made the name up cuz I needed something to rant with, I didn't put too much effort into thinking of one, I wanted bullshitman as a homage to Karl Pilkington but someone beat me to it. And no I don't really expect to be taken seriously (on youtube) but at the same time I wouldn't judge people on their screen names. I just made it up quick as the poor old camel could take it no longer and this was the final straw.

  • @talkingshitfool

your such an idiot.really?are you that stupid to think the uploaders choose advertisment?hahaha

  • @talkingshitfool for god sake, stop moaning about things you cannot control

  • @redkarl73ivan Surely you can only moan at things you can't control, If you could control it why moan just fix what you don't like about it.

  • @elixermixer i agree with you pal

  • a quick note for those of you whom chose to use derogatory and abusive language on this song, your creating a great impression of the irish, i'm sure you guys probably won't read this and by the sounds of it are probably at a KKK meeting so won't be able to respond. but maybe a bit of an education and a quick flash forward to the 21st century might be needed, anarchists love to use patriotism as a vale to mask their own vendettas against mankind, in short try reading a book!

  • The UDA man appears to demonstrate a remarkable command of" the Queen,s English . Perhaps he should consider a career in the diplomatic corps.

  • im a UDA man and to be honest your all cunts

  • ALL Irish people are taught two languages from the age of 4 . Generally speaking the people that complain about the language are the ones who failed to learn it. They then respond to a point of argument by saying"f*** the Irish language".No shock, a lack of vocabulary in English also. Perhaps one day you might grow to appreciate your culture even in"down the road from Conemara", wherever that might be. I doubt the term" ordinary man" is ever applied to you.

  • Times are hard again, Ireland is the factory the ordinary man is up shit creek..The bankers ,politicians and property developers have stolen the soul of the ordinary man.Perhaps Christy should write a song about them ,the black and tans of today.

  • 32 PEOPLE ARE COMPLETE DICKS

  • "Nor went on strike for mmmbetter pay"

  • This song reminds me of the best boyfriend ever! Mwah xxxx

  • @TheCowboyfrog LOVE YOU! xxx

  • Al of you need to get over the bull shite politics and realise he not about that, Ye are all up on your high horses about what he sings about, hes much more light hearted than you realise, get over the crap guys, its long gone

  • Obviously ... Trying to sing and rack out a tune , is a labourious undertaking for the earnest and self important christy... Funny , how can a man steam his way through a song as if it was the most excruciating thing ever put before him.... Beats me... What is all the fuss is all about... Its moribund and linear tosh.. Ordinary man my fukin arse. Christy ... get down the pub mate..

  • THE IRISH FUCKING RULE!!!!!!!!!

    and i am english:) haha

  • does maggie and her protegie listen, not a jot

  • Funny this... Ordinary man sung by the ordinary christy moore.. a man who plays venues for big dough while berating the audience for even being there. Periodically stopping mid song to give shit to someone who may of breathed while his sweat laden crinkled brow tries to remember the words of someone elses song. The only thing this ordinary man needs is a good fuckin skinful.Or maybe just a good kick up the hole... National treasure my arse...

  • @MrCroixdeguerre wise up u depressin fukr

  • @EriinLouiiseee Indeed i have wised up little miss erin packet of soup...Never again will i pay a shilling to see the self important curmudgeon that is christy moore... As for being depressing.... at least i don't warble trite dirges like the one christy is singing here.. The poor bugger looks like he's got stomach cramps or something.. The last time i saw him it was so bad i fell asleep before i could make my way to the exit... 30 quid for a fucking kip! Fuckin scandal..

  • @MrCroixdeguerre jeze christy really makes u feel bad .. hi get over it ...

  • @EriinLouiiseee Ah look erin oxtail soup, i know your only a slip of a lass, and probably love all things oirish in a youthful kind of way... indeed you probably go to an odd gaelic football match and maybe wear a county jersey at the weekend to asert your parochialism,,, Now a old fecker like me would be a bit more cynical... A good analogy would be with the self important christy and his cynical coralling of the yahoo brigade.. Sadly, now an epidemic in ireland..be good

  • @MrCroixdeguerre u really have to make a big ladey daa story about everything dont ye ... ur jus makin no sense no more i think ur a bit funny in the head to be honest ... :)

    nothing special, nothing grand,

  • @GriffinGuy98 you cant go wrong with christy as your idol if you turn out half as good as him you still be making money, keep up the work

  • I understand that money is necessary, and it sure is nice to have enough not to have to worry, but when the fuck did a piece of paper or a piece of metal become more important than another human's wellbeing? Maybe im just naive, but I don't think i will ever understand billionaires and CEOs.

  • Absolute class. No better way to describe it.

  • MY NAME IS CHRISTY MOORE

  • Brits are not the enemy. The enemy is simply rich, he might be Brit,Yank or even perhaps Irish, white, brown or black. Just remember they are nothing without our hard work and effort. The song after all is British as Christy says at the start :)

Never be divided and conquered, life isn't about the bankers money and nation states. It's about what you do to make the world a better place.

RIGHT ON ! There's good and bad everywhere, no race or nation is purely angelic, nor satanic. SAY IT AGAIN!

  • @andrewhoult damn right.

  • @andrewhoult ...No ... the only enemy is exponents of the cliche... of which you have proved yourself a master... Take a bow , and like the rest of your yahoo compadres throw your chip wrappers out of the window ... while drunkenly singing the fields of athenry.. All the time,Loving the corrupt and penniless country your yahoo governments have made you. 5 quid a pint anyone?

  • @joebloggs139 Not all Brits are like that my friend..... don't generalize :)

  • @RobTyler87 true words

  • @RobTyler87 fuck off ya cunt ya

  • I am Spanish and I like the Irish accent the best. However, it seems that Irish people don't like their own native language and are letting it die. Please don't. Thanks.

  • @pabloaqui99 Very good point, me and my friends speak it alot and I'm going to do my best to try teach it to my daughter but in the far future I fear the language will simply die, as will the Irish accent and culture, we'll become an American culture with no soul but hey I don't know this as fact, I just feel it, by the way I love Spain and the Spanish, alot of 'Irish', 'Gaileach' blood comes from northern Spain.

  • @pabloaqui99 : haha your funny but i agree! I love Spain by the way :)

  • @pabloaqui99 go raibh maith agat buddy :)

  • @pabloaqui99 Dúirt an fear go maith agus a chuid nach bhfuil siad imithe fós

well said man and its not gone yet

  • @pabloaqui99 It's not so much that we don't like our own native language. I'm 16 at the end of my school years, I think that when the british controlled Ireland upto 1916 they forced the english language upon us and thats why we still speak it today. I have to admit though it is too easy to evade having to learn the Irish language in Irish schools and take the state exams. I too wish that we spoke our own unique language just like the Spanish, French and other nations but we don't.

  • @Ske7chGaming Britain maintained control until 1937, not 1916. Contemporarily speaking the Easter Rising was an utter failure, and a very unpopular move. And it was less the fact that English was forced upon us, and more the case that English was necessary to learn if one wanted work abroad. Irish as a language was subjugated greatly, however, that's true. The real failing in the lack of proficiency is the actual method of teaching. Like any language it should be optional to learn in school.

  • @HawmQuinzy Gaeilge- was considered as a language of poverty and famine Irish familys wanted there children to learn english for emigration and make sure they found work.

  • @FifasClamidiaButter Exactly. It allowed greater opportunities in the USA, Australia, New Zedaland, South Africa, etc, as they were all Anglophone.

  • @TranceInMyPants21 You're not Irish....

  • @Sportymike Born in Ireland and i will die in Ireland.100% Irish Mo chara.i wish you a painful death son.get cancer hahahahaha fucking wee rat :)

  • @TranceInMyPants21 Lol. If you were Irish you wouldn't be calling a Spanish person ' a spanish fuck' and wishing cancer on someone. Má tá daoine cosúil leatsa ag éirí aníos sa tír seo go bhfóire Dia orainn agus tá súil agam go gheobhaidh tú ciall lá inteacht ar mhaithe linn féin!

  • @pabloaqui99 we dont hate our native language its just that we dont understand a feckin word of it lol :P

  • @clearyboii2k9 You should be ashamed. We are the only nation in the world who give about learning our own native tongue. As an Irishman, this upsets me so god damn much!

  • @Sportymike how should i be ashamed, i didnt say i hated our language, i said i dont understand it, which is fair enough! if we did speak irish as a mother tounge then we'd be isolated with a language barrier too all other country's..

  • @clearyboii2k9 Are the Danish isolated? Are the Finns isolated? Are the Norwegians isolated? No, in fact they are three of the richest countries in the world. I'm not saying we shouldn't speak English. I'm saying the Irish should make it a point of learning their native tongue and using it. Instead of complaining about having to learn it at school and constantly bashing it.

  • @clearyboii2k9 u not funny mate u should be ashamed not to know your native language

  • @TheNirvanafan95 "mate" we had it takin away from us if ya dont remember... If had a chance id learn it.. where r u from anyway

  • @clearyboii2k9 i from northern ireland and i'm a proud irish speaker

  • @clearyboii2k9 Déan iarract é a fhoghlaim más éireanach fír thú...is daoine mar tu féín a bhfuil an fáth go bhfuil an teanga imithe

  • Really good ! thanks to Box music who sent it to me !
