I think that apologies can not relieve the horrifying fact of former slavery and really isn't productive. I do not see at this point in time how any apology would benefit. Focus forward! Black people now have the same if not more advantages as anyone else. That is positive progress in my opinion and restitution for the wrongs done to a people HUNDREDS of years ago.

Interesting that a month after you made this comment the senate let out an official apology for slavery..
Whether you think it's sincere or not is up to you.
I still don't see why anyone should have to apologize for something that they did not do. I don't know why that seems so outrageous.
If my dad killed someone before I was born does that mean I should apologize to the victims family?
I was born in 1989, I don't believe that I have ever kept anyone from reaching their potential.
