  • How can an explosion perfectly divide his face in half? At least The Dark Knight had a better explanation as half of Harvey's face was wet with chemicals.

  • And thus began my rain of shitting my pants at a "To Be Continued" screen

  • I remember this was so famous when I was a kid. We would all talk about who are favorite Batman villain was. But the origin of Two face was always the thing every kid was afraid of.

  • Perfect voice for Two-Face, what's this guys name? Also a perfect Voice for the Joker in Mark Hamill. Absolutely perfect.

  • @Sumoto999 Richard Moll is the voice of Two-face

  • @JoWaSi94 tyvm!

  • I watched this last night.

  • Harvey's fiance is such a cutie

  • funny at 1:43 he has black hair on his left side but at 2:35 he has white hair on his left side :/

  • i love how batman says "look out, dick."

  • @theincompetentme "look out, Dent."

  • Okay that woman who works for that bastard thorne I saw the pure evil soul in her

  • Why on earth are there so many open vats of chemical in Gothem?

  • The real monster isn't harvey, it's a coward named Rupert Thorne

  • Two-Face has always been my second (no pun intended) Batman villain just behind Mr. Freeze.

  • two-face is one of the coolest. darkest villains ever

  • Usually when you hear a male scream in a movie or TV show, it sounds ridiculous because men aren't really trained too well on yelling and screaming usually. But the scream at 2:20 is easily the most diginified male scream/yell I've ever heard in anything.

  • The brighter the picture...the darker the negative.

  • so 2face and joker both turned evil because of batmans inabilty to make sure that no one is in that chemical pit

  • I want to see Thorn in TDKR!

  • best show ever... it's not even fair

  • The guy with the white hair sounds like the cop from Killer Clowns from Outer Space, but Two-Face sounds like him as well, yet Harvey doesn't sound like him so did they hire one voice actor for Dent and one for Two-Face and that white haired guy?

  • Why is his face blue and his hair white? Was it because the comic book version was too gruesome for kids?

  • Comment removed

  • If one side of your face gets exploded on it the hair doesnt change to white and puffs up....if gets burned mofkr

  • The voice acting in this show. It is so spot on. Like the transition from Harvey's personalities, perfect.

  • 0:30 - 0:50

One of the greatest moments in the entire show. Perfectly captures what Dent's going through as he falls over the edge into the possession of his own demons.

  • Got it for Xmas watch it just then

  • @Jontsen12

He's always looked more latino to me.

  • I prefer this origin than other. In the dark knight movie it only showed like one part here Harvey Dent almost a shizophrenics life.

  • @tiakpark You truly understand batman and what characters represent. Well played.

  • As much as I love this episode and these scenes, I can't help but find it very hard to believe that Thorne could outrun Dent.

  • great job on this video

  • its funny that Two faces voice is Bull from Night Court.

  • @oktoberK

He was also in the 1986 horror film "House"

  • Thorne is a fucking cocksucker

  • @Jontsen12 nope but burton cast a black actor to play him. This guy here doesn't seem black to me...could be seen as kinda racist if he were.

  • @Regenmacher175 I read the guy in the 89 Batman was supposed to play twoface in a later movie, but too many issues arose. I'm not sure how a black twoface would look though. I guess it could be done but I can't picture it.

  • @Regenmacher175

How could it be seen as racist? lol

  • @Skeletonwitharaygun because the black guy would become evil.

  • @Regenmacher175

    Yes,

But look how many white villains batman has.lol

    They all became evil.Nobody cares.

It makes no difference what race they are.

Killer Croc is like batman's only black villain.lol

  • press 3, 5 and 8

    harvey, harvey, HARVEY!

  • Voice of Sully from Uncharted at the beginning here

  • oh. I have this episode !

  • some scaring ? dude had half his face basicly blown off and you said he may have some scaring ?

  • THAT WAS HOW MUAMAR DIED! WITH A TWO FACE!

  • you think these guys would learn to stop having meetings in chemical plants

  • Before his accident Two-Face looked like Hugo Chavez lol

  • Man this shit was so intence when i was young.Shit was like a movie!

  • In this series Harvey is a man who gives in to the anger and rage he feels-something we can all relate to sometimes. And in The Dark Knight he is a good, decent man who is overwhelmed by the sickness he confronts, for which who could blame him. The idea is that he is a tragic character because in his place most of us would feel inclined to do the same thing.

  • he should have deid

  • Nice reaction nurse and doctor, glad your there to help him feel better. Maybe he wouldn't have become evil if not for that same reaction

  • Off all the characters in this iconic series, its Two-Face whose voice is the most unique... I love doing impressions of it so much!

    "It's time Harvey... IT'S TIME!"

  • "UR TALKING TO THE WRONG HARVEY!"

    hahaha

  • Nothing will ever be as good as the animated series also the new catwoman in the upcoming movie doesnt have that sexyness and hotness like the others.. her suit is ok at best i guess

  • why does harvey dent look like barack obama?

  • 2:44 Tearjerker....

  • Its sad that Two Face has his other half of his face burnt. :(

  • I just realized that here, both his hands are normal. But in every other appearance, his left hand is also burned.

  • The sweat is literally boiling on his skin. Fucking intense.

  • 2:20 that scream sends chills down my spine

  • "Goodbye Grace"

Her name was Gilda in the comics, but I love the reference to Dent's "fall from grace" with this line. This was one amazing show.

  • If half his face got burned, how the hell did his hair turn white?

  • @amado1130 ikr his hair should've burned off!

  • GIMME THAT FILLEEE!!!!!

  • slowly turns Harvey dent around

    batman: o.o

    me: oh shit

  • Two-Face is a perfect representation of the human condition. The noble, just side, characterized by the super-ego. The dark, impulsive side, vilified and shuned, growing in anger and resentment, characterized by the id.

And in between, the poor ego, bruised and lacerated by man's continual self-misunderstading and self-castigation.

Darkness and light...both merely two sides of the same coin.

  • @tiakpark freudian psychology is completely out of date

  • @cexpistol2 I know it must be, given it was one of the first schools. What's a more update school of psychology?

  • @tiakpark Awesome sum up of words.

  • @tiakpark

    Just what I was thinking

  • You just went 999,999000 miles over the IQ of the average Youtuber. Myself included. Where be the boobies at?

  • @tiakpark very well put sir. :)

  • That scream is both heart wrenching and fucking terrifying. i love this show.

  • Now why didn't the movie The Dark Knight have Harvey Dent become Two-Face the way this animated version did? I still think this is Graphic even for a 90's kids show.Aahhhhh, animation, video games and comic books. Always better than the real thing. But most Americans believe, "if it's live action, it's better". COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG.

  • @viciousclan I don't know why they didn't do that. I know in the comics Harvey becomes Two-Face when a mobster named Sal Maroni throws acid at his face and he dosn't get scarred from an explosion like in The Dark Knight or the cartoons. In Batman Forever even though the movie wasn't that great they explained how Harvey became Two-Face just like the comics did by getting acid thrown at his face. Maybe taking something from a cartoon interferes with Nolan's "realistic" approach to his films.

  • This ep always resonated for me. When I was little I always bottled my anger up till it exploded in temper tantrums, and for that teacher's and counselors deemed me crazy and wanted me locked up. It never happened, thank God. But I can understand Harvey's holding his rage back, till it becomes practically another person within himself.

  • Of the various origin story two face has, this is by far my favorite.

  • 2:18 That scream scared the sh*t out of me as a kid the first time.

  • "There's just one problem... you're talkin' to the wrong Harvey..." - Richard Moll will always be Two-Face to me.

  • "You're talking to the wrong Harvey..."

Ooooooh...I get chills every time. I looooove Two Face! ^.^

  • Anybody else find it odd that TAS's Two Face looks like a combination of Dwayne Johnson and Hades from Disney's Hercules movie?

  • @mescatraz34 hahaha good call!

  • @Expendable2010 Hahah regardless of his resemblance to The Rock and Hades, this is undoubtedly the best handling of the character throughout all of the Batman mythos.

  • @mescatraz34 oh absolutely....so fucking tragic. but still...great call lol

  • that was a very unproffesional doctor...

  • I have a really hard time believing that Rupert Thorne could outrun Harvey Dent.

But man, this was an amazing villain transformation. The buildup is pretty damn stunning, and his turning into Two-Face was very well done.

  • Fucking missss this show

  • Has anyone ever wondered why one of Two face's, faces, is shown with blue skin and a yellow eye in this series?

  • @superomegaprimemk2 The skin is rotting, and the eye has been drained of it's fluids. All because of the explosion.

  • Why is only his face scarred here yet in part 2, his entire left side of his body is scarred?

  • Anyone else think of Jack's Joker? " Mirror!"

  • Wow what a scream.

  • "Gimme a mirror!!!!" (Starts laughing uncontrollably)

  • Jesus christ... that's dark

  • Love how dark the show was. Even watching it as an adult now and it still surprises me, seriously, new superhero cartoons can't hold a candle to this!

  • @vmorda

This was aimed at adults and teens not just adults, it aired every 5:00 during prime time and it appealed to all ages. I watched this when i was 11 when it first aired and loved it because i grew up with Batman since 1989.

  • its kinda weird two face had his face AND his left hand scarred but here at the hospital his hand is fine???????? wtf

  • For many reasons, I like this version of Two-Face's origin more than the one in 'The Dark Knight'. Biggest reason: I like how this episode previously established Harvey having multiple personalities.

  • @GoldenFlither15 I agree. Also, Harvey was given a whole lot more, um, character(s) in the animated series. I especially love the last bit of humanity he has being released as he says goodbye to his fiancee.

  • @Zuyuri Very true. I like that episode 'Judgement Day' for that reason as well. What a twist!

  • @GoldenFlither15 I had mixed feelings about Eckhart's Two-Face. He looked freaking perfect, like he really did have half his face blown off, and the obsession with fairness and everyone having a 50-50 chance was spot on. But they missed the whole interior struggle and the multiple personality facet.

  • wow... tht huge explosion made his face scared exactly half-half..how nice.. :)

  • The doctor and nurse. Were extremely frightened when the bandages came off, when i was seven years old. Back in 1992 i had nightmares after watching this. I watch it today and say its just cartoon. I dont let it bug me, the movies are more better

  • Wait, didn't his left arm get disfigured too? lol

  • @TheAltair4

Yes and wasn't Richard Moll terrific as Two-Face? did you think he sounded like his Ben character from 1986's House?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, Richard Moll was great as Two-Face and he did sound a lot like he did as Big Ben in House. lol. He was really great on the tv show Night Court too.

  • @TheAltair4

Wasn't Dean Wormer, Officer Mooney and Heavy Metal's persecutor great as Thorne?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Don't forget that John Vernon also played Sherman Krader in Ernest Goes to Camp. He's another favorite actor of mine and he was great as Thorne. It's kind of funny how Thorne looks almost exactly like Marlon Brando. lol

  • @TheAltair4

Harvey looks like Lex Luthor on Superman TAS with hair

  • @Johnlindsey289 lol. Yeah, he sorta does.

  • @TheAltair4

He's also the computer's voice did you know that?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Can't say i did.

  • @TheAltair4

Did you know Moll was also in American Pop as that beatnik? and John Vernon was in that piece of trash film called "Sweet Movie"?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, and Moll was also in Evilspeak.

  • John Vernon was terrific as Thorne and Richard Moll did his Ben from House (1986) voice as Two-Face

  • 1st joker now two face lol

  • It's Me, Myself, and Irene...on steroids

  • many of these villains had sad origins just like batman, but they chose to be villains, Mr Freeze, Two-face, riddler, each one had good intentions but where transformed into monsters. that is a reason i like the series so much.

  • @MAnnaconduit1 You do realise that those are comic book characters

  • @blahmehblah1

oh no i didn't realize, i actually thought that there is a guy with have burnt face running around, as well as a lady who commands killer plants a gigantic freezer man, and a homicidal clown running out there. yes i know but many comic characters reflect on real life characters and also act out the emotions and feelings of real people. otherwise why would anyone care about them at all.

  • two-face is my favorite batman villian. he's unpridictable, leathal. but at the same time you feel sorry for him because of his mental condition.

  • ah yes... chemicals + psycological trama = super villan

  • @madman101ish still you feel for the guy. regardless i still thing the poor bastard had a choise. but i guess thats what makes him a good villian. some one who works hard for the comon good turned into something like that. bad sad and horrifing at the same time. you know

  • LOL the fat man looks like DSK xD !

  • @MrTrilliondollarman I am. I wasn't interested in this show when it first came out, but now after seeing his reviews of this show and seeing The Dark Knight, I really want to give this series a try!

  • @MrTrilliondollarman

    *raises hand way up high*

  • It's odd. Here only the left half of his face got messed up from the acid. In all the other episodes that feature him at least his left arm and hand are, too.

  • @TheToenninga Hmmmm, good point, maybe he did that to himself on purpose, when he became obsessed, with duality.

  • Almost all villains in the stories of Batman have equally sad origin as Batman himself has.

  • @TaiXJ Haha, you talking about that guys butt in the air.

  • The way he said now! Was funny lol

  • i use to love this episode X3

  • 0:48 - 0:58

One of my favourite parts from this Batman series :)

  • the only thing i didnt like about the portrayal of harvey dent in the Dark Knight movie,, was that they didnt make him Bipolar,, they made him to str8 of a guy that joker turned bad,, they didnt give harvey his psycological issues , making him bipolar, which was dissapointing

  • A friend of mine told me that the Harvey in the Dark Knight was better then this one but I told her nothing bets the classics

  • Does anybody know, which season n episode is this?

  • @andresborjas9115 first season,, this was like in the year 1990

  • Goodbye grace... ha how awesome

  • Talkin to the wrong Harvey may be hazardous to your health.

  • Harvey's transformation freaked me out when I was a kid, especially does images that you saw glimpse, when Harvey was hypnotized. I never saw anything more violent than this episode and I was just a kid then.

  • 10 people spoke to the wrong harvey...

  • This was the first episode of the series I ever watched. I was 7 at the time.

Those final images, the scream, the lighting across his ruined face, the open window and flapping curtain, they've stayed in my mind ever since. This is THE scene that always comes to mind when I think of this show.

If you can believe it I only managed to find and watch the second part of this episode a few months ago, and I'm 23 now!

And the series is still as good now as it was back then.

    Bless you Timm.

  • @TheJboy88 Dude me too and I never watched TV shows as a kid, except this one. Two Face in Batman Forever=The Joker. Two Face here=nothing like The Joker. Fuckin scary mate.

  • @TheJboy88 I still watch the show too and i'm 20 ! :) I can't get enough of the show :)

  • Where's good plastic surgery when you need it?

  • He's blue because its his original look

  • 10 people need to go get a life

  • tell me how in arkahm city hes red, the movie hes red but the show hes blue

  • @Mr5u1cid3 because this show is the best representation of batman...

  • @Mr5u1cid3 also i guess arkham city is a more realistic portrayal (no skin, exposed muscle/flesh) of his disfigurement rather than the stylised blue in BTAS and the comics.

  • How come Twoface's hand is not messed up here, but is is later?

  • @Leatherbubba Wow you're right I guess it's a rare hollywood error...now what they should have done was wrap it in bandages

  • @Leatherbubba well if u really wanna think about it as an in universe example, they might have been able to operate more successfully with the rest of his body, but after his breakdown, Two Face decided to fuck it up himself to match his face.

  • Comment removed

  • Of all the villains on TAS, Two-Face and Mr. Freeze have to have the saddest origin stories...makes you wanna cry, doesn't it...they were good people, but due to the rotten people of this world, they were forced into what they have become - monsters.

I guess the show tries to explain strength of character - Bruce Wayne too was traumatized by the very same people that caused the suffering of Dent and Freis, but Bruce never let hatred consume him...

  • What's with all villains getting there faces screwed.

    Joker now two face?

  • why do villains never use the front door?

  • There are so many different stories of how he became Two-Face. Like: he was exposed to radioactivity, he caught fire half his face, he got hit by some weird paper...

    Must I go on?

  • @soldierinthesand You forgot the most common one, getting acid poured onto his face in the courtroom.

  • He's my second favorite villan jokers my 1st of course :0)

  • Cartoon or not, that explosion would've killed him.

  • Rape face at :52
