loved it - some beautiful chords in there. My focus as a guitarist is solo acoustic, and i would never have thought of arranging this song in particular but it works brilliantly. I've uploaded a few myself so feel free to have a look if you have the time.
Expanding my horizons again? I have a big vacuum where pop music ought to be so I didn't know the original or the band but I love this rendition anyway. Great playing,
Thank you. I darkened the harmony some. I resisted my natural tendency to over harmonize (which I do frequently). I think a tune like this should be as uncomplicated as possible. It is beautiful as written by Brian May.
wow ! i must have missed this gem when i had computer problems. :-( i never heard this tune before, being out of the loop. i feel you made this old guitar very happy choosing it to be the vehicle of your soul .very nice Allen !
Thank you Carl. I have had that guitar over 25 years now. The guitar is very loud and can be a challenge for me to record without it sounding too hot and distorting the signal.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video Allen. Man that Taylor guitar model sound like a harp. Crispy clear sound. Love the tune and your playing like always "superb".
Hi Allen, somehow i missed this one. A beautiful arrangement and excellent performance, played with lots of emotions. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the new year! - Uli
Ah, now I'm glad you asked. - A decent amount of snow, the last couple of winters, reminding me of my childhood.
An interesting statistic, voiced by an airport boss on the television yesterday, is that up until 5 years ago, it hadn't snowed in this country for 15 years. ... hence our almost traditional national unpreparedness for a small bit of seasonal weather.
How's things where you are? - my friend Suze in the Appalachian mountains has 2 feet of snow around her right now.
Yeah that global warming is a pain in the ass over here as well. We got a bit of snow Christmas day/night. Still on the ground. I wonder how much snow Owl Gore got at his house?
Wonderful arrangement. I love the way you play, sounds so warm and cosy whilst bright and full of energy. *****5 stars, this is your best performance yet I saw. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year. Greetings, joao
I ordered the guitar back when Taylor was rather unknown. Sometimes when I would call, Bob Taylor was answering the phone. They sure have come along way since then.
Oh my God. Allen I have never heard you play anything with as much feeling as you put into this. It has such a nice balance of dynamic, hesitation then a resolving of the suspense. You're talking to the human heart with this one my friend. I'm honored to have it in my favorites.
Thank you Lance. I am honored to be in your favorites. Thank you for your input. It's hard not to get carried away interpreting the message of this tune. So many harmonic opportunities.

Hi Allen, nice to hear you again!!! Oh, I love Freddie Mercury´s voice and intonation, and I like this movie and the song. The lyrics...oh yes, ...
I like your arrangement, would have done it different here and there, 2:22, the Bm is great, the echo ending is a nice idea (for the song´s title is a question, it fits, the unanswered ending)...own arrangements show the guitarists ears, on what he focuses, like an open book.
Very nice, Allen (and the sound of that guitar is superb)

This is both powerful and provocative of deep
thought and introspection. Thanks, Allen. So
many people have so many reasons to feel
the weight of melancholia while others are
mistletoe-ing at this time of the year. I think
this song underscores sober reflections
without wallowing in self-pity. Beautiful job!
And here's to a healthy New Year! hugs ~T

Sadly, I think for some people this time of year invites melancholia. We all must examine and balance what we think is good or not-so-good about our lives. How we view our circumstances is an individual choice and is subjective by nature. Adjusting one's view of life can make a big difference. We all have burdens, some more than others. It's not a contest.

Korsaro1 mentioned something which I think has a truth, the arrangement shows the guitarists ears, what he thinks is important. Well I think arranging for the finger style is definitely a challenge, transforming a vocal type tune to an instrumental which occurs here. Still keeping the vocal line in tact with respect to the composer and recognizable for the audience. The small but important alterations are necessary to add interest and personality(one's own voice) You've succeeded very well,Vic.
