In australia, we swear by the Red head for Spanish (King) Mackerel, so should work well in USA. So a red head, and white body, I always run at least one lure in your spread with this colour. Blues, Purples and
Lumo Green also work well, The rapala Magnum XRap is a gun lure and one of my favourites, would also try and run a 20 or 30, if the area is deep enough.
Was a nice fish, definately get bigger ones, but also on the Old X Rap, Top lure and one of our best fish producers, definately have one in the tacklebox, and would always have one in your lure spread,
what is the best colors for kingfish?

Would say it was an Xrap Magnum 20, or the 30, Great Lure, and a must have when trolling

When those macks get hungry you can catch 'em with a dirty sock

Good fun when they're on the chew, but the Rapala X rap would have to be one of the all time favourites, only problem not cheap at $30 a lure,

@Reefari ok, Thancks mate. Just another qustion: At what speed should i troll it at?

The X Rap lure should be good trolled at 5 - 6 knots, That's a good speed for Spanish Mackerel,

In Australia we call them Spanish Mackerel, or the same as King Mackerel, A pretty good one, but they do get massive up to 30 or 40 kilo's
