  • what is the best colors for kingfish?

  • In australia, we swear by the Red head for Spanish (King) Mackerel, so should work well in USA. So a red head, and white body, I always run at least one lure in your spread with this colour. Blues, Purples and

Lumo Green also work well, The rapala Magnum XRap is a gun lure and one of my favourites, would also try and run a 20 or 30, if the area is deep enough.

    Cheers Greg

  • what size x rap is this ? 14?

  • Would say it was an Xrap Magnum 20, or the 30, Great Lure, and a must have when trolling

    Cheers Greg

  • The fishiing is great in Australia, but the gin laws suck!

  • Pretty awesome fishing off Mackay, spoilt with great Spanish Mackerel, GT and reef fishing,

    Cheers Greg

  • somebody take me fishing :)

  • Feel free to check out our website, we'll take you fishing,

    cheers Greg

  • hey where abouts do you fish off in australia?

  • We're based in Mackay, Queensland, Australia, and have an awesome run of spanish Mackerel, usually about July to October,

    Cheers Greg

  • When those macks get hungry you can catch 'em with a dirty sock

  • Good fun when they're on the chew, but the Rapala X rap would have to be one of the all time favourites, only problem not cheap at $30 a lure,

    Cheers Greg

  • m8, i have a x-rap too. In dorado colour. But when i troll it, i always get scared that it will break my rod. What to do?

  • Top lure, and gets great results, Shouldn't break your rod,

    Cheers Greg

  • @Reefari ok, Thancks mate. Just another qustion: At what speed should i troll it at?

  • The X Rap lure should be good trolled at 5 - 6 knots, That's a good speed for Spanish Mackerel,

    Cheers Greg

  • @Reefari OK, thanks mate. Just one more simple question: At what speed should I troll it at?

  • is that realy a mackerel??

  • In Australia we call them Spanish Mackerel, or the same as King Mackerel, A pretty good one, but they do get massive up to 30 or 40 kilo's

    Cheers Greg

  • Hi Benno,

Was a nice fish, definately get bigger ones, but also on the Old X Rap, Top lure and one of our best fish producers, definately have one in the tacklebox, and would always have one in your lure spread,

    cheers Greg
