hi i have a question, my car mercedes 83 300d has a problem in cold morning when i start it, it starts fine but it idles low and feels like it will shut off. Can it be the nozzles related?
Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what my 92 300SD sounds like, especially when it's cold. The car came with replacement nozzles so I guess the previous owner was going to replace them. Now it's my job. :)
im sorry, any diesel over 1000cc that is naturally aspirated cant be up to good. the 6v92 was the only good big N/A engine... not to mention it was a 2-stroke.
It is a good engine. It starts and runs great. I didnt say it was powerful or had good throttle response. It is slow a hell. The 6.2L Detroit Diesel engine was designed in the early 1980's as an economy engine. Its good for what it was made to do, light towing and getting good fuel milage. it does get good fuel milage for its weight. I know what you mean though.
We got our 6.5L's in a 36' Mainship Flybridge. they have just 438 hours and have already bent a rod (port), regurgetated most of the turbo through the exhaust (both), and had to have the pump rebuilt on the port side engine.
Try maintaining your engines. I'm very sorry the GM 6.5 is not idiot proof, get a Duramax. I have a low compression intercooled 1995 6.5TD that runs 20 psi with a dyno proven 285 RWHP and 490 rear wheel foot pounds of torque. The truck weighs in at 5,600 lbs so it's very fast and efficient. I run fuel additives in all my diesels and run Mobil1 oil with a FS-2500 bypass oil filter, the stock tiny PH5 oil filter ruins engines.
You have a very nice truck sir, but we only use the boat in the summer for maybe 10 hours a year. it makes me mad, but my dad doesnt listen to much. My uncles ferry has 2 CAT 3516B's with 3,500h.p. out of 92L of displacement and 16 cylinders with 58,000 hours and 4 rebuilds on it. built tough... maybe, lol...
Redex diesel injector cleaner. I permanently run Redex in my petrol engine. I HAVE noticed a great deal in engine noise. I can actually hear the injectors firing 'freely' AND it cut hydrocarbon emissions by 50%. and i can prove that.
OK so I have a 1982 240D and I want to replace my nozzles, but I cant find a wrench to remove the pre-chamber. Where can I get one?

What was better: this engine or the 6 cylinder?

It's a needle in the nozzle not a plunger, they are in the injection pump !!

Sounds like a good idea to change the nozzles sometimes.

LM Diesel Purge is a good product. It can clean the injectors well, but there is no replacement for replacement.

I don't suppose theres any diesel injector cleaner you could recommend for my car?
Peugeot 106 with 155,000 miles still using standard injectors and nozzles. Unreplaced....it's bad
