  • I like your hair,

    greetings from germany ;o)

  • somebody may have already told you but , real pure shea butter comes in ivory and yellow

  • Shea butter is available in the African grocery stores, &, besides being great, it is really cheap too. I buy it a couple of miles down the road from my house at the African store.

  • what you can do to melt the coconut oil if you wanna make it easier is just plug the sink up and fill the sink up with hot water and sit the whole can of coconut oil in there, the temperature of the water will melt it in like 3 minutes.

  • So cute!! sorry just had to say.

  • You can get that brand of shea butter off amazon.com or amazon.co.uk if you're in the UK.

  • I uses that color of shea butter because that's all I can see and get to. You right it's doing my hair just fine also. Girl get you a hand mixer, girl it's even better when you whip the butter and oils together. I been doing it for awhile Coconut Oil & Shea Butter are one of my favs to use in my hair and skin.

  • the yellow is just added color... its still natural shea butter...

  • Hey where do you order your shea butter?

  • Ahh love that cardigan/sweater you're wearing!! Its so cute!

  • True African (unrefined/virgin) shea butter is much harder then whatever that is you have and it actually comes from Africa. It is also a greyish/tan color and smells smokey. The women in Africa (Ghana mainly) work hard and sell it in fair trade to the US and other countries. This is how they feed their families, so make sure your buying the real deal. To do that I buy mine online from the source. White shea butter is refined and all the good stuff has been removed.

  • @mommadog1 heyy ya would you mine sharing the wbside where you buy your sheabutter from please ? blessings

  • @mommadog1 you do realize that her virgin comes from Ghana too...i have the same one...and from the research i did on it...from what i know...its pure or authentic. Are you saying that this is imitation b/c if it is please let me know!!

  • thats not real shea butter. Thats something called golden shea, which is commonly passed off as shea butter.

  • @clifbabymac4life shea is never bright yellow. nor does it melt like that.

  • Can anybody help me determine what my hair type is. I have a video on my channel!

  • U remind me of alica keys ^_^ ur beautiful

  • I just suscibed because you are the first person I saw with my exact hair type....your's might be a little thicker. I head you mention that you didnt know why the shea butter was yellow..... It is yellow because they add tumeric to it...which is excellent for your hair. It is actually better than the pure white.

    thanks

  • Good looking woman however ever wear this hair style again.

  • your simply adorable. lol

  • uploaded this the day after my birthdayy! <3 My sister has the african shea butter and me and her use it! worx great!

  • would carrot oil work or does it have to be coconut oil?

  • The yellow butter u r using is called Kpangya and is fine to use but it is confusingly MIS-marketed as Shea when it is NOT. Two completely different trees - one in the african desert, the other in african rainforests/riverbanks. Google it. Kpangya has a powdery-dry-silky feeling on the skin/hair and you may prefer it to shea, or prefer one for hair and the other for skin. Every natural has "different" hair so I suggest trying both to see which your hair prefers. Both are BEAUTIFUL and NATURAL.

  • @qcrosebd Honestly, the only one i can find is the yellow one? Do you know where it's possible to buy the white one?

  • I looooove your voice

  • lady shut up and read your mind

  • i saw that minnie mouse picture in the store b4

  • the shea butter you are using IS real shea butter. there are different types of shea butter. i use the same kind you use and it works beautifully. coconut oil also rocks.

  • i got that exact shea butter on amazon.com a while ago

  • your hair is really pretty

  • i was just wondering are KTC Coconut Hair Oil & extra virgin coconut oil the same or is there a difference between them please help thanks x

  • Both yellow and ivory shea butters are all natural. The only reason there is a difference in color is because the nut that it comes from is a different color. They separate the yellow nuts from the white ones and keep the butters separate. The yellow shea butter is believed to have more nutrients than the ivory. If the shea butter is white then it has been processed and mostly all nutrients are removed. :) The yellow shea you're using is perfect, don't change it. :D

  • @preciousay2 THanks for clarifiying cause this discussion about sheabutter got confusing. i am ghanian and my fater in law just brought some for me from Ghanna and it is yellow, the last time i got some from Ghana it was white so i guess your explanation makes it clear ..thank and blessing

  • Your so beautiful. And now I forgot why I came to this video in the first place

  • Yes you look and sound like Alicia Keys!!! Love the hair color

  • i just wanted to kno can you sing

  • u remind me of alicia keys

  • i have the yellow shea butter too...and i found out that it is natural, just dyed, so the ivory is just uber natural!

  • love the lamp

  • do u apply this to your scalp, the hair itself, or both??

  • você é linda, tenha orgulho de sua raça bjos!!!!!!!!!!

  • I use that Shea butter on my face an it awesome! I've used that coconut oil also it was pretty good I would just put it right on my hair lol. My hair was a little to shiny but it was all good.

  • Alicia Keys has a sister lol

  • btw i like ur accent lol

  • i read that there was no difference between yellow and white shea butter besides the color lol

  • you sound like alicia keys! liked the vid

  • its african nut. therearejustthe same

  • Have you got a tut for this look because i'm 9months post (tomorrow yay) and I wanna try different hairstyles =)

  • Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The carti is the business. you better work. Leporad and red is like my signature look. you are wearing it well

  • What hair type are you?

  • maybe you have already found that shea butter, but I found mine on amazon for 10 bucks for the 8 oz. The one you have looks like the creamy one I got with the same amount of firmness to it. Maybe this could help

  • I use this mix for my twist out and it works really well. I use a mixer to keep the integrity of the ingredients. I also add sweet orange essential oil because I don't like the earthy smell. Try it you will love it.

  • @SweetNikki247 OMG! I think I'm going to try something similar because I don't like the smell of shea butter, nor does my husband. I live in a very small town and we don't have whole food stores, so I think that might be a challenge. However, I'll try something even if I have to go to the Vietnamese hair store, lol. Thanks for the info!!!

  • Recent subbie here!!! (great vids) What you have is real shea butter. It ranges in color from pale yellow to grayish yellow......the color can vary based on filtration and such, and bits of shell added. From my understanding the white shea butter is chemically refined....hints it lack of color and smell. Ivory colored shea butter is most likely naturally refined. At least this is what I have come to understand from all the sites I have visited. I too think shea smells nice and nutty!!!

  • I know I'm late and u probably know already that most beauty supply stores have it

  • loved the video =) keep more coming

  • Its real crazy that i tried this before i saw your video. I didn't like the outcome and from watching your video I saw what I did wrong....THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love love love your cardigan lol.

  • she do look like alicia keyes n sound like her that is uncanny.

  • your face and voice/accent reminds me of alicia keys

  • lol you got that black thing from a restaurant.. i steal them all the time.. great vid! :-)

  • @asiarock779 lolol yep! applebees to be exact ;)

  • @asiarock779 You just made me LAUGH! And you gave me an idea... I'm gonna start taking them now too lol.

  • omg does ur shea butter smell like clay?

  • @KRAZYKOOLQUEEN lol ummm it definitely smells earthy

  • HEY....PLEASE DONT USE THE MICROWAVE...IT KILLS OF THE INGREDIENTS OF THE NATURAL PRODUCTS THAT YOUR USEING OR EATING.

  • Wonderful.

  • from my experience the ivory color is for shea butter that is unrefined..

  • hey, i wanted to know where i could find the african shea butter that you are using. i have no idea where to look for it, what websites. or whatever, helppp please :-)

  • @aunaturalebby it's on amazon, and another website butter-n-bars...check it!

@cynd675 Agreed. Heat the cup in hot water, don't microwave.

  • Thanks for the tutorial on shea butter and coconut oil. I did this last night and loved it. This is definitely becoming part of my regime. By the way I was able to find the shea butter at Whole Foods (natural food store).

  • i love your vids and lve got that bed cover lol

  • Please do makeup tutorial and how you get such a glow! Thanks!

  • so iv noticed that uv said many times u have really dry hair, and rather than having ur hair heavey from shea butter and coconut oil all the time (if thats wat it does to ur hair) try co washing ..only, try it once a week for three weeks. co-washing is basically using conditioner only. no shampoo. it werks for me and its waaay healthier. it doesnt strip ur hair from its natual oils and it makes ur hair softer over time...and promotes hair growth. if u want u shud try it.

  • @CBooCc mmmm what conditioner do you use?is it a leave in?and how is it healthier? I thought cocunut and shea were very good for natural hair, just curious! I just got my BC and im trying to figure out what to do with it.

  • To add to your thoughts, idea's, and people's comments on the color of shea butter. When shea butter is purchased and it's yellow its still natural and unrefined. When shea butter sits or has time to sit for some time it tends to start to lighten up in color. Even sometimes resulting in a lighter pale like yellow color sometimes white.

  • Girl I'm missin your videos!!!!

  • the one your using is called African Butter. One is not better than the other some just prefer one than the other

  • lol at "whatever tree this shea butter is coming from" but I didn't know the difference either until a few months ago. The one your using is called African Butter and like u said the ivory one is shea butter. One is not better than the other but some prefer one over the oher

  • @wwilli9 lol thanks! i go to rutgers university

  • @MsAriella89 i loved this video lol, and im natural 2. ugh im so jealous i wanted to go to rutgers, but dont want 2 do the out of state fees lol, is it a god school?

  • @MsAriella89 i wanted to go to rutgers ol, but didnt want the out of state fees lol. is it a goo school??? and btw im natural and use these products so freat video.

  • I use the same mixture love it but as u pointed out to much coconut oil makes is greasy it'll have your face greasy also...

Only difference is with the amount u had n your container I would have added 5 drops os Rosemary and lavender...I love those oils and it wouldn't have an overwhelming smell to it...

Hair still looked great love the fro' hawk!

  • that sheabutter is not fake. i have the same one. i <3 <3 <3 it . it feels so good on my hair and it keeps it from dryin out. they dont sell it where i live so iget it in dallas. um...what do you do to mask the smell of coconut oil. i bought some and i havent used at all because it makes my stomach hurt :(

  • @luhvieluhv23 i don't do anything right now =\ i just kinda deal lol, but the shea butter actually masks the coconut oil smell to me, but i guess if you're sensitive to the smell then it's different, once I find some essential oils that I like I'll add that, that should mask the smell pretty well

  • natural unrefined shea butter varies in color from beige to yellow because the color of the shea nuts varies. the only shea butter that can be deemed as unrefined simply by the color is shea butter that is completely white.

  • @maceonmahogany yea i'm hearing that a lot too now, i actually went to the african shea butter website and it was explaining the different shea nuts and how color varies depending on where the trees are from like the east coast vs. the west coast of africa

  • I have both butters but the yellow one is really african butter

  • I got a tub of the yellow shea butter from my local beauty supply store. I had to order the "pure" ivory colored shea butter from Amazon. I really don't think it matters, i use both, on my skin, but not my hair, cause it is too heavy, but I think I am going to try this mix and see how it does. Thanks for the recipe!

  • if you melt the butter in the microwave a little and the coconut oil its easier to mix. i have a coconut oil mixture with aloe vera juice and jojoba oil that i have to throw in the microwave for 20 secs to melt it. i put it in a spray bottle and it distributes easier. my shea butter mixture is in a jar...i dont have to melt that, i mixed the shea with cantu shea

  • looooooooooooooove the sweater!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love your videos...your are soooo beautiful ! just subbed !!

  • great vid & I love you hair & cardigan

  • @Nat2Be *your

  • I may have missed this, but you just use it for a hair moisturizer right? I have a big tub of shea butter and trying to see what I'm going to do with it. right now I just use it on my body. especially my face. Thanks for sharing this information with us.

  • i love thw way it make my hair feel but i hate the smell of the shea butter....it too gotdamn earthy...lol so i add more coconut and olive oil and there is men on the street in my city that sell like 2 dollar oil on the street...and i break one open that i like the smell and add that too it until it the smell i like.

  • @nochokin and yea i completely understand about the smell, i need to get some essential oils and hook it up

  • i never seen unrefined shea that WASNT yellow...but i guess people are so picky and silly about this stuff.....they need to get a life...if it work use it if i doesnt get over it a move on to what works...yet you see many video talkin a I amnot my hair, or IT JUT HAIR etc....anywho your hair look great and healthy so what you do cause it working

  • @nochokin lol thanks hun

  • Nice video. I've tried the "yellow shea" before and it did my hair JUST FINE as well. I have the ivory one now..but both are fine to me. & I don't like AC EITHER!! lol

  • @prettysunshyne lol!! there's not many ppl who don't =P

  • @MsAriella89 lol! Right! Me & my bf get into all the time in the summer..bcz he stays blastin the AC in the car. I be having a jacket over me and he just looks at me like I'm nuts cuz it's 99 degrees outside..LMAO

  • @prettysunshyne lmao i hateeee that!! i don't see the point in putting the AC on Alaska, do we want to feel like it's winter in july? ;p

  • @MsAriella89 pahahahhahaha right!~

  • Did u say u don't like A/C ?.....lol

  • @CreaTiveNaTive73 lol yea i don't like the cold at all =( i prefer to sweat, i'm a lil strange i know lol

  • @MsAriella89 lol......no not strange...im guessin kinda healthy, to get the toxin, and impurities out....or so iv'e heard....thas cool....ttyltr (talk 2 ya layter)

  • I have Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Lavandar and JBCO Promade mixture. And I keep mines in the freezer, because I put too much Coconut Oil. But it does make my hair too shinie. But like you said its great on the hair.

  • you can get the African Shea butter from vendors up and down 125th Street if you live in New York.

  • @MelsharyA yes thank u so much...i kept saying where did I see a lot of shea butter stands....duh...lol

  • your hair looks really good and healthy! i can't wait till I get to that point. if you make your own conditioner could you make a video about it? please and thank you

  • I just brought back unrefined shea butter a.k.a Ori from Nigeria, and the colour varies between a cream and a very very very pale yellowish colour...The refined shea butter has altered colour so from the cololur of yours I think its false packaging. You may want to search on ebay or online for the real unrefined shea butter.

  • I've got my shea butter (same brand) from the local "black" beauty supply store.

  • Just wanted to share this with everyone if you have shea butter that is YELLOW it is not shea butter repeat SHEA BUTTER isn't YELLOW it's more of a ivory white. The Yellow "shea butter" is called african butter comes from a totally different tree.

  • @YeahOkLMAO I also found this out a while ago! i had been using the yellow stuff (african butter) for the longest time before finding this out!

  • ur hair is so pretty !!!!

  • love the minnie mouse pic in the background lol xx

  • I have coconut oil but I have yet to try to the unrefined shea butter...how versatile is this mix? Do you use it as a moisturizer, as a pre-poo, and/or for styling purposes?

  • @btvaughan1 i only use it as a moisturizer and for styling

  • coastal scents and butters n' bars sell coconut oil and shea butter.

  • I have this Shea Butter and I know exactly what you mean about how hard it is. I never thought about using coconut oild with it but it is a good idea! Thanks for shring with us how you hook it up because I would probably have melted TOO much coconut oil when trying this so you saved me the headache of that mistake girl :) By the way I love your top, it is so cayute! Stay tuned to my channel for an exciting update I will be uploading tonight!
