@glenngeij This not a jam but a song (instrumental) which is featured on THE REDDINGS first LP (also named The Awakening). The Reddings were a band formed by two Otis Redding's sons plus a cousin. It's been covered by Les Claypool and many people are convinced that he wrote that. UNTRUE! Check out the original on YouTube it will blow your mind. But this version here is great and Davis has proven in his many videos that he is one hell of a bass player!

If you get a chance you need to check out Larry Graham and Graham Central Station's " Pow" and " Earthquake". Also, Pleasure's " Glide". I always hit the E string with the thumb faced down but I kinda put it more straight when I'm hitting the other strings ;)

Okay, it's hard to explain the tone himself but I can talk about the EQ ^^ I always boost the low-mids and the high-mids but I don't boost the high-mids as much as the low-mids. Other than that I'm using a compressor, and I hit the strings quite hard, that's a part of the tone I get.

i think you should add more bass in the EQ, it would make you sound better, atm the sound is very good, but it needs a bit more depth and kick (haha, deep kick, no pun intended) i know ill probably get a lot of hae for this, but its just my opinion :p

You're right, we did this video without modifing the sound and the bass sounds a bit too dry. Usually I add a bit more bass and low-mids on my amp but this time I didn't do it.
