@colonel24567 Yup, you can activate the Trance mode manually, as long as you have a fully charged trance guage, you can use the C button to use the Trance mode.

I still can't beat that survival spellcard. It's a doozy, and for some reason I always try to save my bombs and trance mode for later in the card and just end up dying so much because of it.

Mamizou (A youkai Tanuki) is actually similar in manner to Ran(A Kyuubi/9 tailed fox). Both are actually well-known in folklore of Japan for being able to create illusions. A lot of ZUN's characters are original, but also inspired from these myths.

Admittedly I felt Mamizou was a bit anti-climatic and un-intimidating, but her spellcards said otherwise... I haven't gotten past her survival spellcard yet.

Guys you do have to remember, ZUN said he was making this game a bit easier to appeal to more people. It's not going to be insanely difficult, even in the EX stage.

Even if difficulty is easier this time... I found this to be one of the Touhous I enjoyed the most. The music is amazing, the characters are not too bad, and having a Meganekko Tanuki as an extra boss with cute danmaku was a plus for me, tbh. She's hard to take seriously at first... and maybe that's what makes her more dangerous? Hah, I dunno. Either way, the game's amazing. That is all.

People who claim this Touhou is the worst is wrong. I actually like this one quite a bit. The new music and characters were quite a refreshing experience to see and hear.

Add to that I actually like the extra boss quite a bit, and I don't quite understand why people assume she is too easy. Most of her cards are quite nasty if you're not careful, and I love her danmaku styles <3 Her theme is so amazingly addictive~

@RaveXanaike People claimed that many times. They did in MoF, SA, and UFO, but after sometime, they love it. I think it's because they're not used to the new gameplay mechanics, music, and characters yet. I bet after some time, they'll love it and realize how epic this game is. Just wait for a while and see.

By the way, about the difficulty, sure it's one of the easiest, but I also find this the most tricky Touhou game. No joke. ZUN would never make it "too easy".

This is true, he did some wonderful art in the stages alone. The music tracks didn't disapoint. I don't know where people get that "Windows-98 is superior" crap. I really doubt that they been following the series when it first released. I got into Touhou when SA came out.

Besides, not everyone is godlike at shoot 'em ups. I know I'm not. ZUN stated that he wanted to make this one a tad easier for the newer players. Especially from UFO ... that's the only one I couldn't 1CC ...

@RaveXanaike : Personally, I think TD is the weakest of the Touhous so far. Characters felt so blah to me. Music in this game was okay. Definitely not the best but whatever.

The only reason I don't like this Touhou as much as, say, Perfect Cherry Blossom, is that the first three stages and bosses are a little boring compared to the last three~
