  • Today the Chinese luthiers over at Epiphone smoke the American luthiers. Besides there's alot of American luthiers that work at Epiphone in China. People seem to forget that Epiphone is a American guitar company in China and the majority of Epiphone work force in China are American from top management to luthiers. And there from Gibson and Epiphone USA. Epiphone guitars are simply brilliant and most certainly better than Gibson!

  • is that chinese or korean g-400?

  • IF ANYONE WANTS ONE HIT ME UP

  • I'll be buying this guitar in a few days, i have the same amp, and a boss MD2 distortion pedal.. i can't wait :P

  • did you need a stompbox to do any of this? I want to buy a G-400, and I want to be albe to do the stuff you're doing.

  • You are on bad ass mofo.

  • How is it holding up? All in all are you happy with the guitar?

  • @loldecepticonlol

Its been a pretty good rig so far, i've had it for 3 years now think, it has survived my little brothers that have had it at there house for about a year now...and there pretty hard on stuff. It still sounds good and everything. No broken neck joint or pickup problems, only problem is the selector switch is a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes. Overall i still like it.

  • @BergMister If you've had it for 3 years, you should replace the switch. I always like to replace the switches in my guitars once or twice a year.

  • Which model do you have? the faded model or the standard? it appears to me that you have the faded or vintage as epi liked to call it since it has binding on the neck. newer ones don't have binding :( but still cool guitars for the money. And those pondering over this or the lp100 save a little and get one of there. mahogany body and set neck. can't beat that and a sexy double cut away.

  • you think is good change the pick-up with an EMG 81 or 85?? please answer ;)

  • @sharkpyro93 I personally do not like the sound of EMG's Its not really my kind of sound...But i think there good pickups though as far as sound quality. Sorry i couldn't give ya much insight...

  • @BergMister i like them cause i like metal sound, but thanks for the info ;)

  • @sharkpyro93 if you are gonna put in active pickups get seymour duncan black outs, they are cheaper than emgs and sound 1000 times better

  • @cocafan33 thanks but personally i prefer the humbuckers pickups, i don't know why...

  • @sharkpyro93 you do realize that both the emg's and seymour duncan blackouts are humbuckers right? and they are both active and not passive pickups

  • @cocafan33 sorry but every seymour i've seen are passive or single coil...anyway, wich seymour could buy?

  • Very nice playing. I'm looking into a G-400 for my next guitar, so it's nice to hear it has a nice sound to it (well, at least in the hands of a good player. Not sure how I'll fare, lol)

  • @BergMister Which guitar would you recommend? The Ibanez GRG170DXL or The Epi G-400 CH?

  • @warhawk145

Sorry for taking so long, i don't read my comments much...

I've never had an Ibanez GRG170DXL in my hands so i couldn't give you a fair comparison...

Too me i don't like the styling of the Ibanez guitars, i like the more classic looks of SG's. That's my .02

  • I just got this guitar a week ago and i own lots of high priced fender and i just cant seem to put this one down im in love with it .Fender needs to do alot better job with their low budget guitars like the mexican standard this one blows it away by far and im a die hard fender player

  • i want to buy one bbut in red cause i have a black Les Paul and it really pisses me off that you can see the dust so extremely :/

but this Guitar is just awesome just like your vid ;)

  • What amp do you use?

Good video! I wanted to buy an SG-400, because it's a very great guitar!

    THX =D

  • @TheGodOfRock10

Its a Marshal MG30DFX, with a Digi Tech pedal on the metal setting.

  • hey=]

will this guitar be perfect for rock, and shows maybe?

and can you change the neck to a gibson sg neck?

  • Why'd you want to do that? Buy a Gibson it would prolly cost the same to modify it like that, the neck on that Epi isn't bolt on...

Its a great rock guitar, with the right amp...doesn't sound good in a fender.

  • cool guitar!

  • NIce! I just got one of these second hand as well! Bloody lovely guitar!! (see my vids!) Very nice for blues with its smooth middle switch setting!

  • Would you pick the Epi G-400 Over The Epi LP-100?

Cos i was wondering which would be better for rock/blues stuff like that

  • Hey sorry it took me so long to reply...Um i would say both are equally good for blues and rock, the LP-100 is a bit smoother tone and has a bit better neck i think. But the pickup quality is better with the 400...the 100's pickups are a bit muddy at times and the 400's are pretty bright sounding.

  • Stay away from the LP 100. Go for set neck for the same price. The sustain on the G400 will be much better.

  • @JXY110 what he just said was not true of most lp-100s there made of alder or pine/plywood when supplies are out which alder is going to sound noticable bright not very LP like at all and plywood just sucks the tone right out the guitar also lp-100s are bolt on =less sustain overall the better choice is the epiphone g-400 realy mahogany body set neck real pups half decent electronics and it actualy feels solid in your hands

  • What pickups are they? the ones already in the guitar?

  • Yup just the old stockers...

  • Great stuff. I have the same guitar and amp and find you can get a great sound, very similar to what you get here, with no FX box but with the amp's own FX control set to about 10 or 11 o'clock. Great playing :-)

  • Thats it!.....You made up my minde. I was going to hold out for a gibson sg standard. But after seeing this I think the Epi G-400 will do me just fine. The metal stuff sounds great.

  • im looking at the epiphone WORN g-400 any thoughts on this guitar comment back im on the fence of buying it, is it a good guitar?

  • How would a G-400 sound with Gibson '57 classic humbuckers?

  • you are too hard on yourself man, my son wants one of these, he has the same amp so he was really happy to see your video to hear how it sounds, he has a cheap SX strat copy which is good for a beginner but thinks he is ready for an SG

  • if you mean the description then he really isnt being hard on himself.if people notice you make some mistakes they bs ya about it and give you low rating,so if he puts that he messed up and ect in the description then the haters cant hate. :)

  • TRUE!

  • Nice sustain and action!

  • so would you recomend this guitar, like is it worth the 350 it runs at guitarcenter

  • Yeah i like it alot, good playin rig for the money. Got good tone and a nice feelin neck. Lightweight also.

  • I have a couple thoughts of which guitar i want soon, which should i get?

    Epiphone Goth SG G-400

    Epiphone g-400 sg

    Gibson SG Standard.

    Thaks man. good vid!

    IKSA

  • If i had the $1800 to get a Gibson I WOULD GET THE GIBSON.

But moneys tight so i'd go for the Epi G-400, and does the Goth model have EMG pickups or standard? Personally i don't like the EMG's.

  • i hate emg's.. umm.. hey have standard pick ups.. so Epi Goth or Epi g-400?

  • I'd go with the standard G-400, i don't like the look of the goth model...imo.

  • Man dude! Nice shredding! *****
