  • nice rape of a magnificent raga and a superb song. I can understand others stooping low, but Vijay Bhai, What are you playing?

  • Although this is an awesome experience ( i mean its more than that.......... it is divine). but i just cant believe how dude has allowed the drum beats and all to mix. fusion is not that easy to achieve. clearly the drum beats and all look so unnatural and out of place. i guess whenever i listen to this i have to bear the noise of beats and all. All in all it is a divine vocal clearly lost in all the noise around........................

  • @1mehra: Satyasheel Deshpande - not related to this joker of course!

  • who is the singer in movie lekin. zhoote naina bole

  • Divine experience of watching all the great artists enjoying playing in synchronization with each other, smiling and responding to each other, + Rahuljee's "honey-sweet" voice + drums + tabla + guitar. . . Divine !!!

  • Marathi diamond shining. He is truly legendry singer and just see where he will reach in next 10 years, dont require boolywood for that.Thats sheer class just hear his music on zee marathi, their is singing program along with swapnil bandodkar.

  • this is called rape of music.. which this half prepared.. over enthusiastic person is doing.... i wonder how Pt. Vasantrao would hv reacted...

  • God bless him ! when i listen to classical indian songs .. i feel like i'm coming home.; ( im not indian!) thank you for share !

  • such graet singer i nvr heard

  • i also think drums and guitar could be more electrifying . i dnt know more abt drums , but i think playing drums in standing might cause some inconvenience.

  • @saurabhsgj- dude..sorry for that..but I am a drummer..so i get pissed when people comment on such a divine music without understanding it..so before you comment just do some research on it and then express your opinion..maza konashi kahi personally kahi nahiye..just that adhi music samjun ghya ani mag comment kara..thats it..and i didnt want to abuse..but u said in your comment ki aai ghatli..so i replied back like that..dont abuse the music..respect it..

  • @nikhs111

just for the record.. mi drummer la shivya ghalat nahiye, ani rahul la tar nahich nahi.. both of them are great in their own place..

It's just that I was not able to listen to the combination of Ahir Bhairav and drums.. I was not aware that drums were an integral part of fusion music... and trust me.. i have no intention of listening to fusion in the future...

and one more thing... bakichya lokanchi akkal kadhayachi garaj nahiye... i don't think personally koni tuzhi akkal kadhali hoti

  • @nikhs111

Yeah that's true.. i don't understand fusion.. this was my first intro to fusion music.. in fact i did not even know it was going to turn into fusion.. and i must say it was ugly.. drums were totally out of place...

Just out of curiosity, are you trained in fusion music? kaaran tu ithe sagalyanchi fusion music baddal akkal kadhato aahes...

  • Good Song. The tabla player should play tabla (Teen Taal) and not drums! This is agonizing to the ears....Actual Tabla would have added to the sweetness of the song.

  • @Saurabhsgj-aarey tu kharach asla kahi aiku nako..tula zhat music kalat nahi..fusion cha arthach samajla nahiye tula..beakkal...

  • aarey yogesh..tula drums cha artha tari kalto ka he sang mala pahile...ugach shivya kay detoy..kuthla instrument wajawtos re tu ?? jar musician ashil tar akkal asel tula asa mala watta..kalat nasel tar plss aiku nakos..ani aiklas tari kalat nahiye mhanun shivya tari deu nako..

  • very nice......

  • nice......bt drums were bad

  • no point in adding salt to tea.

  • no point of adding salt to tea.

  • he is making fun of this beautiful raag

  • The drummer is spoiling such a beautiful thing...wats wrong with him?

  • 0:0 to 1:20 was divine, I braced myself up to listen to some very melodious AHIR BHAIRAV, and then, BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!! the DRUMS!!!!

In Maraathi, we have a slang, AAI GHAATLI!!!

  • Drums??? DRUMS??? Why?? Oh god, Oh my god!!! hey bhagwaan, hindustani classical aur semi-classical music ko western influence se bachaa le!! Please keep a pure thing pure!!

Fuck the drums!! It totally destroyed the divinity of AHIR BHAIRAV!!!!!!

  • sorry but nothing can redeem this guy., he's a gone case.

  • I really love this! Don't really understand appaswaras or anything... but I am a student of western music... and I find the synergy between Indian and western music fascinating... Personally, I don't find Rahul ji either boring or irritating.

  • music n singing of super quality.

Guitar was played very well in classical context.

tabla n flute was also amazing.

but what I dislike the most was drums cymbal and keyboard patch selection.

  • Top pick for my channel :(

  • please upload rahul deshpandey's raj kalyan wording hamari araj suno.

  • d aalap which he took was more suitable for puchoo na kaise maine rain bitai!!!!!

  • agree with The TablaStudent - I can't come to think of this singer as being very good or for that matter, even having a solid control over his voice. actually, his style is a bit annoying and the song sounds hopeless. just sounds like too many harkaten at silly places and a number of appaswaras.

  • This whole fusion thing is "More Drama and Least Artistry". Rahul Deshpande has evolved as one of the most irritating classical musicians; such a contrast to his grandfather the great Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande. Looking at his gestures I feel as if he were Vasantraoji's grandfather instead otherwise!

  • Great singing and composition, see the power of voice.

  • Leave a classical a pure classical....infusion is simply a distortion ! It's killing the originality !

  • The Guitarist is Chintu Singh...he sounds excellent and the drummer sucks...

  • does someone know the name of that guitar player? He sounds best.

  • Well-chosen raga (song) for this fusion music between Indian classical and Western beat. Well done by Rahul (vocal) and Pohankar' s group on the Western side.

  • who is the tabla player... i dont remember his name.. Vijay something...

I was there in Devgandharv Mohostuv 2 years back when there was jugalbandi Between this tabla mastreio and Pt Bhavanishankar (i guess) on pakhvaaj...

that was awesome... he is a great tabla player i guess....

  • vijay ghate

  • who is this guy??? never heard of him

  • He is Rahul Deshpande, Grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande. He is a young and very promising talent of today :)

  • This guy used to sell TEA at the train stations.

He acts like a Mentally handicap person.

He need some help, I mean Medical help.

  • and who the hell you are !!! if u just dont know whoo is he try wiki....

he is one of the best classical singer in India and future of the idian classicl music

  • I am your papa, if still dont know then ask your mama, she will confirm.

  • Yea future of Indian Classical music --- Dark Future!

  • @AbhiChede09

So this is the future of Indian classical?! In that case, maybe I should give up on learning such a horrible music form and go with some sort of Western music.

  • good song...please upload the whole show

  • this is different and well tried. BUT the original version is clearly very good.

  • which 'original' version are we talking about? Not the one from hum dil de chuke... right?

  • this guy rocks big time!!!! one of the best classical singers ever and am more happy because not every music maestro in india has had such amazing kids who exelled even them!!

    way to go !!!!

  • cant say any word....really very talented Guy..!Indian classical very Good..but abhi wakt kay sath sath or achay hotay jayain gay..very nice yar..bohat hi bara singer..nice

  • dont see the video only for hearing nice n realy cut the drum

  • im scared actually looking he singing.OMG

  • Bhushan,

Thanks for this and the other new lot published. I must mention, you are doing a great job by spreading this and making people aware about the great singer in Maharashtra.

About the drums, yes, from Rahul's quality stand-point, it does not hold the ground. Rahul deserves, Ranjit Barot as a drummer. However, it does demo's that Rahul can give equal justice to fusion like the other "commercial" singers.

My conclusion is, "Aapla Rupaya KUTHEHI ekdam Khankhanit Vajto". :)

  • the drums tootally screwed it up ..the authenticity is lost dude to it.. the whole fusion stuff sucks in such situations...

  • Amazing!!!!!

    I love this song.

    Great alaps.

    Long live Indian classic music.

  • why drums ???????????????????

  • Agree drums look out of place here. On the whole, however, a brilliant rendition by the upcoming star.

  • ya vedant, rahul deshpande is brilliant, just like his granddad but yet so different

  • cause rahul taught me drums!

  • sundar

  • Thanks for the upload bhushan.

  • Drum ne ghan keli....Ahir bhairaw la zankar beats laun sudha Rahul ne chan nyay dilay...Except background musik...every thing is perfect fit

  • Aagadi barobar drum babtit, 9 kharya rupayanbarobar 1 khota chalvla.

  • surekh !!! chan collection ahe !!!
