@xsmokedoutx I agree Ford should of done something new to the Vic, other then discontinue it. My P71 doesn't have any of the equipment left on it like yours did. It still looks like cop car though. And I do have people come flying up behind me, only to jam on their brakes. I got use to it, and don't even notice it much. It was a Nevada HWP car, and I love the blue color. I call it Ford Blue because it matches the Ford logo blue. These cars are the best.. Next year I want to buy 2010 or 11...

@xsmokedoutx Thats exactly what I was thinking, the 5.0 is pretty much the same as the 4.6 so it would have been an easy swap and the Coyote throws down over 400 horse!!! That'll earn the Police Interceptor name. And Ford could've raised the top speed to compete with the Charger. Idk, I think the Taurus is a mistake and the CV name will be back someday.

you can find a nice P 71 on ebay or Search the net there's Plenty of nice decent ones u just gotta search alot I Did.. my o4 Looks Like a Brand new 09 only had 55,800k on it but the 4.6 isn't that much faster than my 97 LX was they shoulda put a Big Block in these! and now stupid ass ford stops making them..best damn car money can buy n so trouble free! too but the Seats Suck think i,m gonna find a Bench. where can u find that center armrest console at ? .1@g i have 3 sirens $25 shipped hit me

this car is in great shape,, what is making you sale her and what the miles ?? you should check mine out and what do you mean when you said "computer performance tune" ?? is it a rel sct x3 flash or a e-bay resister that you put on the air intake temp to make the car put out more gas ,,the e-bay ones do not work and are bad for you car,,,lol,,this car is perfect , if you get some one that loves these cars you will get $8500 but not from the ones that dont know the panther platform,,

@TheSleepermgm No..I meant that the computer on these cars have a different tune on them then the reg Crowns.Just a little flick of the gas and you feel the spark and fuel tables are better then a NON police vic.I would NEVER add any Ebay performance parts on my Ford only Motorcraft.And also buy a set of E3 plugs and K&N panal filter bc the car starts immediatly and runs like a dream now even on 87 octane

@TheSleepermgm Car had factory tune on it,90k miles..all we did was raise timing and smooth intake elbow.Sold the car for 7500.00 cash to a guy who needed it for security.I sold the equipment seperatly.It will be missed and it takes me alot longer to get places now,but the car was too much attention for me.

It still has the lights in the grill it was a unmarked unit from where I live, but anyhow I'm just curious about the attention aspect you keep mentioning. @MrPeopleareidiots It wasnt soo bad the attention.But i got sick of the cop wanna be aspect of owning a car like this.I bought it bc my cousins would not let me drive their real cop cars.I saw a few posers driving fast in cars like this and it looked rediculous,bc i know what a real unmarked looks and drives like and they dont drive like assholes for the most part.I know a few other CVPI owners who sold their cars for the same reason.Just gets old to some so they move on.

ive been searching for a CVPI for months and i only came across a 01 LX which i bought and i really dont like the ride of it, i prefer the interceptor profile more. im pushing about 112,00 on mine and ive tried to call the fort worth PD but they all tell me the same thing, "sorry we dont sell our marked units, they get scrapped."

i took 2 rims off at a time and used aluminum foil and blue masking tape to mask off the tires.Then sanded the old paint smooth.Use compressor to air blow chips.Then on a warm day i grey primed them and used a high quality automotive black spray paint like duplicolor black in the rattle cans.Use the good stuff and it aint cheap for all the cans.Finish with 3 coats of clear of the same brand and quality going heavy on coat 2,and 3.Let dry in the sun for 2 hrs and have beers while waiting.

I just picked up a 03 P71 last week. Is the steering in these cars have less power assist? Mine seems unusually hard to steer. Someone told me it's for high speed maneuvering but I think it might be a bad pump or rack.

@rompn4x If im going slow and accelerate around a turn its a bit harder to steer for a sec,but not that hard.I would check my power steering fluid quality FIRST and invest in a cheap oil changer and suck out the old stuff and replace it first if its an 03 put a little Lucas in there with it but dont overfill.Flush it out a few times .Only other thing could be not enough tension on the serpintine belt causing a sudden slip off that power steering pump.Check those 2 things 1st.

@Relic456 Everything was basically there. top lightbar,pushbar,cage,equip.NO lights were connected.Wires were cut up.I installed console,armrest and re wired all the equip for the car show scene.If you can find 1 wit equip,dont expect to have all the wires hooked up,they will be disconnected unless you prove your an officer.I drive the car everyday,no asshole driving & no issues.Gets great mileageAllow extra time to get to work,bc they seem to do the speed limit.Kinda sucks if ur in a hurry :(

@TurboMarius Thanks Sirens and lights are only legal for an officerto use with permits to use them. Now its is totally legal to have them installed as long as you dont use them to pull ppl over. The lenses of the strobes must be clear in my state,they cannot be red or blue lenses,only clear.I daily drive the car with no probs wit the law,just alot of them staring and few of them even wave

@xsmokedoutx man when i bought mines they took the lights out the siren the cage and they were in the process of taking the front push bar off but your's is like almost still fully equipped so do you have any problems with the cops messing with you
