  • Back in the glory days before Tony George screwed it up for everyone.

  • The worst pace car ever!

  • Weren't there pit lane speed limits?

  • @VWatch07

They didn't have speed limits at the time. First time it was used was at 1992 Indianapolis. It was enforced in 93.

  • ...only in Long Beach...

  • thumbs up if you lol'd at the pace car

  • haha andretti looks fat whit that double chin..

  • that was all andrettis fault ever herd of the break, fitapaldi had to pull wide to avoid the pit infront of him, I like mike but he was alittle to emotional and kinda a cry baby thats why he only has one champ and flunked out of f1

  • @backlinelover andretti was braking... look at the smoke coming from his back tires... he is clearly skidding because of full braking...

  • the pit crew shoulda waited a half second then waved him out and that woulda all been avoided

  • Johnny Rutherford doing his best impression of Eldon Palmer there.

  • 2:50..The funniest part was that where the pace car hit the wall it read "STOP" on the ground..LOL..

  • That was a nasty wreck. Glad nobody got hurt.

  • my dad was one of the pit lane officials they pulled over the wall. him and chuck greer were almost killed becasue of that. my dad still has a piece of carbon fiber stuck in his firesuit from that.

  • Whoa, now that's wild!

  • LOL @ the pace car!!

  • God, what a strange moment!

In the Emmo X Mike incident, I think was team Penske pit chief´s fault..

  • also the fact that there were no speed limits in the pits back then which causes alot of chaos and dangerous situations in the pits.

  • @LIGIERJS111979 I was Emmo's pit chief then. There was no way that we could see up the curved pit lane, and when Michael came into sight, he was doing about 140 mph. Emmo was already halfway out, so all I could do was yell "Stay right! Stay right!" over the radio, but there was no room. It turned out that pit lane had been set up incorrectly, and was two feet narrower than it was supposed to be. Two feet would have been enough...

  • ...In the three seconds between the time Emmo starts out and the impact, Michael has travelled 200 feet. Things happen quickly in racing.

  • Awesome more, more I say!
