  • Everytime I click 1 bar and see how it sounds it sounds really sped up and bad.. I'm doing everything you said and I have no idea why it's doing this.

  • smooth....thanks~

  • thanks a lot :D

  • thanks you so much! that was very educational for me! But i got a question, how do you get around the sample if it has already the sound of of kicks and snares and then it starts to mess your own beat...any tips on that?

  • @skySofa open up an EQ filter and try turning down the lower frequency (for kicks) or higher frequency (for snares/hihats)

  • Also sorry if I can't get back to everyone on here, i've been trying to reply ASAP, thanks again for checking out the video and im happy to keep hearing good feedback

  • NICE BEAT<3 although the beat is killin in the original as well

  • Can you please tell me if I have a sample (for example) and it has a melody in it, so how I can change the notes and keep the same sound of the sample?? Please tell me, really, really need this! Is this possible?

  • @IlCaretto TBH i don't think so if you want to get close to that you would switch RESAMPLE to AUTO then play out notes on top of the sample using a VST or some sthing

  • there any way to see the bars on edison editor?

  • @task33 and tbh i dont know if there is

  • i didn't knew it, this bars stuff,..fuck me it's fucking easy..i allways work on samples whitout drums, now, i feel like i wanna make some dope beats..thank's bro, you almost change my life

  • @task33 dang just almost changed your life? :-/ lol

  • thank you this help's so much

  • i was wondering if u can do a tutorial of how to mix and master an instrumental and the vocals ?? if u can that would be really helpful to me..i cant find a descent tutorial for that where they explain it clear enough..and if u can give me a special shoutout ?? lol

  • @spookyfbaby1 thanks for peeping and sadly my computer is really slow for screen cap at the moment I'd check out other youtube users for those tutorials since there are some good ones I think, like The Jokerr just released a quick one earlier this month

  • LOL!!! Blue Mountain State!! Nice video btw, definitely subbed!

  • @thacuban13 i loved that show man, Thad is so classic lol

  • @TwistedEdgeProd For real man, for real.

  • you should mention its good to fund the original tempo of the song so its easier to time stretch

  • damn thats a phat sample

  • too sum up this video, "fuck fuckety fuck fuck, you gotta click on tht fuckin thing then drag that fucker over here. lol id you didnt say fuck 100 times in the video then ppl would take u seriously but its a good tutorial tho.

  • nie vid m8, i have got one question: where did you get this all samples (show at 2:47)?

  • @lucasthegodfather mostly off vinyl/online

  • How do you figure out where to chop a song w/o drums though?

  • @BombingSomeDodongos usually time it out

  • This is honestly the best tutorial i ever found.

  • thanks fam!

  • my song in fl studio: watch?v=AjIgipwnSCM&feature=youtu.be

  • @TwistedEdgeProd Good Video! So Thats All You Do? What About The Bassline??

  • @OneTheOnlyOne well i mean for basslines you can either play it out OR you can lift the bass from the sample you are using by utilizing one of the EQ filters in FL Studio

  • @TwistedEdgeProd Thank You!!!!!!

  • @TwistedEdgeProd you should make a video showing how to use an eq filter. please.

  • @growsum word ive been trying to get back on tutorials but my computer mad slow, gotta build a new one when i save up some cash

  • one question thoo. what if the part thats being sampled have some distant kicks in it . they are kind of low but when my kiks go off the kicks from the sample are coming on and its kind of fucking up the flow

  • @GroundUpProductionz thanks g and best way to go and do that is to EQ the low/sorta middle end of the sample so that the kicks don't actually thump. You'll wanna put your sample in a channel on the mixer and open up like Parametric EQ 1/2 and miss with that.

  • finally a sampling vid that actually helped

  • how do you add in the vocals? same way?

  • @krome257 thanks man and yes you'll just have to time that out your self though since you don't get to get help from the kicks/snares to time it right

  • the man

  • damn finally a dude who knows how to teach people. thanks MAN, SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN YO

  • @whatsyoureyedea thanks g!

  • i can't lightspot certain part of the song, as in the video at 4:21 .. right click, left click - nothing works. also my colour of the track is different. it's red and yellow. any advices?

  • @eatmydust2003 what do you mean by lightspot? like high light? should be able to use left click, drag to where you want it to end and release left click..

  • @TwistedEdgeProd hah. yeah highlight i mean. ive tried it couple times exactly the way you say and still doesnt work. its strange. im just worried edison is not involved in fl studio 10 producer edition from the beginning...

  • @eatmydust2003 hmm it should work, is your copy a legit version? Using it on Windows

    ?

  • @TwistedEdgeProd yes it is. its original cd. i got registered my very software as well on image line official website. and i got windows, yes. (kinda old, but windows) i think this angle should be fine. you know what, i will try it again. maybe it is me whos doing something wrong. otherwise i really dont know. maybe some inner options are set up wrong. i gotta figure it out, cause i cant let all those awesome possibilities of sampling just let go. thanks for now.

  • @eatmydust2003 hmm dang that really boggles my mind bro haha let me know if you find out a fix for that. If you can't find a work around I'd suggest using Audacity or some other 3rd party program to set up your cuts/chops on there.

  • i need to do vocals from a song ...... can i use this method ?

  • @ADAMSODMG ya, you'll just have to time it out

  • thanks man, you really helped me. i also subscribed you, this tutorial ( unlike other time-stretching tutorials ) was very helpful!

  • good video maino...forget what the haters say...thats legit....its the only aspect i dont have down on FL studio and this is a DAMN good start! 1 love!

  • you've help me a lot and you don't make it look hard. thanks

  • now im trying to change one of ny simple synth bass to high pitch but i dont want to change the other how you do that?

  • how you can make the samples longer? :S

  • so what if you wanted to add some chops to this?

  • @platinstrumental I'd use fruity slicer or FPC to lay down chops, I'm actually going to be making a tutorial hopefully soon about chopping...

  • @TwistedEdgeProd ok thanks bro for the reply good vids about to sub!

  • @platinstrumental 'preciate that!

  • bro this video is where its at you help with everthing i wanted to know about sampling

  • hey man wats up... do u know how to stretch the bass... or any idea how i can get ma bass a lil long...

  • you see how the playlist is split into two....tracks at the top and patterns at the bottom???? how do you get the patterns up becoz when i open my playlist its just a long list of 99tracks??? :)

  • @MrLyricalBones should just have to drag the divider from the top to the middle/quarter down and it should look like mine

  • That shit helped like you wouldn't believe fam! Great Vid! 1luv

  • you really helped bro. fuck these guys hating.

  • @MrPuffPass thank you homie !

  • @HilbertKSpace hey G i saw your comment earlier, idk if you were still curious but with that you'll either have to do it by ear, but i've seen some people use the vocoder plugin to get the notes off the sample after its been time pitched

  • That was a horrible sample, Although that is basic information. There is more then 1 way to sample in fl studio and using edison is not necessary. Thats not really time strecthing thats just sampling.

  • @VictorAUlloa thanks for checking the video but thats why i say (time stretching) and not (every possible way to sample in FL Studio). I use edison to chop up the sample, where you can use third party programs as well as Slice X. Also it is time stretching, i mean unless the category name is wrong on FL Studio... it says "Time Stretching" right above the knob...

  • thanks this helped alot....how did u get the vocals in there? same rule as the vid?

  • @iamsubjekt the vocals are from the sample, thanks for checking video

  • ooh its floating <thanx bro dope tutorial

  • Very Talented :)

  • this is tooo easy xO why didn't i do this sooner >.< i've been making it too complicated

  • @thiskidgotmoves me2 ):

  • @dragonkelv it's easier to put the main drums in an fpc and link it to a blood overdrive effect on a channel that isn't the master. then have another fpc and set the chops on to there to make it how YOU want to. check out the 9th wonder beat guy's videos (:

    THANKS DUDE!

    now Lemme go make money

  • I can't even thank you enough, Twisted Edge. I really appreciate it man. I will fully support you and your videos. I wish you luck with your travels, brother.

  • @ImKingc0n hey i really appreciate the support man for real! im trying to upgrade my computer so that I can do better tutorials in the near future.

  • this is truly a great video especially for beginners i think you should do another part of how you got the vocals in the sample that plays at the end.. would be great thanks.

  • how do you import music from itunes or zune that you want to sample

  • dude i have been trying to get into fruity loops for a few years now, but could never find a tutorial that explained sampling in simple enough terms... thank you for teaching me how to get started in sampling. Chopping is next :) hope you got a video on that, too

  • @voteZDLR word once I upgrade me crappy computer I will be doing a tutorial on that

  • @TwistedEdgeProd well I am a PC technician, soooo if you need any help with your computer/advice buying a new one, holla at me

  • good shit my dude. ive been on my fl jawn for bout a year now and ive neva learned to sample. im bout to go da fuck in. u dat bul right now. subscribed

  • This has helped, but my sample changes tempo from bar to bar. It either sounds jittery when the next slice triggers, like out of time. Also I have a pick up note I want to include. Message me and maybe you can help me with the sample its definitely worth it I just need to get the timing right and with just this video its close but it still doesn't sound perfect

  • @lamochila66 the jittery part you might wanna ZOOM all the way in on edison for the beggining and end part of the chop and stop it at a zero point (where the wave line hits the middle) that might help a bit for that. Also make sure you're chopping it clean, sometimes you might not notice but you're including an extra kick at the end of the chop. Sorry about the late reply and I would message you but Youtube has been randomly glitching my messages.

  • @lamochila66 give me your email addy. ive done all of what you said. i'm gonna send you the sample and see if you can make it work with a simple four on the floor beat, its just the timing i wanna see how u do it

  • @lamochila66 my email gonna be on my twitter (cant post it in comments or else i'll get spam bots emailing me lol)

  • very sick .. clear and straight to the point man ... all the way from LDN

  • u sick asss white boii

  • @miko3030 LMAO nice.. i appreciate it

  • nice ! which is the sample? :)

  • @pejota87 the sample i use in this example is Lamont Doziers - Shine

  • do i have to count the snares out? what if i wanna sample a violin solo? i did the right click > 2 bar thing and dragged the wav to the playlist and it was a little longer than 2 bars.

  • @RomansEmpyre hey man you'll have to count that out, by either tap bpm or actually knowing a bit about music theory. I didn't cover it in here since I don't know it in depth enough to talk about it.

  • @TwistedEdgeProd so if i count 2 bars, i can then do right click > 2 bars but not 4 bars right? i would have to count 4 bars?

  • @RomansEmpyre yah that sounds about right

  • HELL YEAH BLUE MOUNTAIN STAE ON SPIKE. DATS DA SHOW RITE THERE!!!

  • dope tutorial outta all the sample vids this one helped me the most

  • this is helpful, i rap but dont wanna depend on other peoples beats thankz alot man

    ! ;)

  • Man thank you,,,,this is the only video that really helped me...thanks..

  • Very helpful brah...

  • Learned alot from this video, ima try this out later for this one sample im having trouble with

  • @mdmcpresident no offense but there's more than just one way to sample.. This is the technique called time stretching

  • ya..... um, this isnt exactly sampling. the technique he used is for SFX on a beat. the sampler is either the SlicerX or the Fruity Slicer.

  • Heeeeyyyy, I have two patterns from the same song, but together they just sound weird! Like one of them is slower even though the bars the same. Help? Oh yeah, I have to put the drums on boxthing behind, is that normal?

  • respect..been lookin for somethin like this for a minute..thank you

  • bruh you might have just saved a DREAM

  • I really appreciate the tutorial. it gave me exactly what i needed and nothing more. keep up the good work

  • is there another thing to use because i dont know why my fruity loops doesnt have edison

  • thanks! this really helped me. I've been tryna learn how to properly sample

  • good shit dude. Liked, subbed and commented.

  • @ipnomad thank you!

  • @TwistedEdgeProd did u learn all that by yourself???

  • @loyaltyonly111 for the most part man, when i first got FL studio i sat down for a week trying to learn all the shit, and im still in the learning process

  • A dogg nice video and that beat u made was SWEET

  • Well constructed and helpful tutorial. Thanks for takin the time

  • @mdsusong no problem man, once I get this new PC going I will be having more tutorials in better quality!

  • Great tutorial dude!!

  • @nextphaze2 thank you man! I appreciate that

  • Dope video!

  • @jehfree562 heyo thanks homie!

  • the other sampling videos suck, this method's by far the easiest, thanks for helping me out bro (Y)

  • @ProblematikGTX thanks homie, i try to help ! Can't wait to make more tutorials.

  • I'll be making more tutorials once I save enough money to build this new PC, my current PC only has 1gb of ram and a 1.5ghz processor... So these things are basically impossible to do lol

  • super helpful fam', keep bangin the sic tracks...Im down to collab/join with group::) to established/foundated producers, I chop&screw & remix also !!! Link up

  • @WINKO1981 thanks man, message me a link with some of your stuff

  • @TwistedEdgeProd Bro can you tell me how to remove the kicks and snares from a sample, so i can make my own drums and snares?

  • @Drumpie heyo mess with the parametric EQ filter (i think i spelt that right haha) should be able to adjust the highs and lows of the sample. In the future I'll make a tutorial once I get this new computer

  • Thx brah you help me a lot! :)

  • @MeinBeatzProduction thank you for checking it out and it being helpful!

  • dope

  • This was helpful. Thanks

  • @davdcl499 no problem man, glad i could help

  • The sample was sped up but what if we only want the beat to sync but not be sped up like that?

  • @GhostOfACPast There's a 'pitch' knob right next to the 'time' knob. You can pitch it back down and the sample will remain on tempo

  • how could you remove drums from a sample in fl studio? i know there are filters in other programs that allow you to change the frequency but are there filters that do that in fl?

  • sample?

  • u could explain that in 2 min :p

  • thanks a million i dont think it could have been anymore simpler and yes that ghostface album is a classic for those of us who still enjoy TRUE HIP HOP...

  • @birdsfan84 thanks man! and yessir even Ghost's new shit is still killing 99.9% new rappers shit lol

  • Thanks alot my nigga........but how do you find the tempo of the sample to match it up?

  • @BMUSIK101 I usually use that Mixmeister BPM analyzer program (which is free), you can also use tap tempo that's in FL Studio

  • @TwistedEdgeProd thank you

  • thnks for the vid, verry helpfull

  • @99biggee what sample are you using? and what part

  • @TwistedEdgeProd It's a sample I cut from a Barry White track called Come on in love. Not sure how to explain what part of the sample ???

  • @99biggee Well if anything the BPM thing would either slow/speed it up a bit more.. I haven't listened to the song yet but my guess would be that maybe... idk haha tell me the section you're sampling from the song, like the times (ex: 2:50-3:00) I'll try messing with it and see why it's doing that for ya.
