Very nice mate U play ever so well awesome tune. What's that bit in the middle i'm trying to fathem out the chords to? It's the part where I THINK it there's an Am7 & a couple of other chords? I've a collection of keyboaords including a roland juno G, I play & sing all time classics, record bits of my own stuff, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk & other covers but just a hobby though. I entertaine elderly day groups by singing & playing keyboard that I & they enjoy.
@BandOnTheRun87 Surely she uses other equipments and not only the Roland D-50 but onestly I don't know exactely what other synths. For example here: youtube[dot]com/watch?v=gWTMEvg-Pe4 Enya can be seen playing on a Roland Juno 60
@BandOnTheRun87 Completely different machines and sounds. The Juno 60 it's an analog synthesizer while the D-50 it's digital. If you're searching the early '80ies electronic sounds go for a Juno 60. If you want some very particular and sometimes cold/metallic sounds go for the D-50 (anyway this doesn't mean that the D-50 it's not capable to produce warm sounds).
I suggest to watch some Youtube demos of both instruments, they'll explain what I mean better than 1000 words.
very cool, i've always been a yamaha guy , but if i found another decent synth for less I would've done the same thing and bought it. as long as it was a yamaha ,korg or roland.
@Pianocarneseur12 Not supposely neither luckily. Enya actually used exactely the D-50, for this and a lot of other songs. The D-50 patch she used for this song was the preset #44, called "Pizzagogo".
@mima14031985 Wow it must feel awesome !! knowing you have the exact model she used, I thought so haha it sounded exactly the same. I've listened to enya since I was just a little elementary kid and now i'm graduated actually this year. Great work I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Regarding the D-50, trust me, absolutely no awesome feeling about knowing Enya used it. I'm not that kind of guy, eventually full of money, who buys a synth just because of a single preset sound or a given artist used it, boasting about this. I hate that kind of people.
Simply I found a guy near me which sold this keyboard for a very little price and as I always liked it, I taken the occasion and I bought it. That's all :-)
@dvamateur: Hi, the song which goes in the background it's not sequenced by myself but was a MIDI file which I found on the Internet. I simply muted the main keyboard track so I was able to replace it with my playing. Anyway thanks for your comment ;-)
I found the D-50 on an announcement on a local 2nd hand market website. I called the seller and I picked the keyboard directly by him. I was very lucky because the synth, apart some cosmetic wear (expectable for a keyboard from 1987 but nothing too bad) works flawlessy and costed me only about 240 euros. It was a great deal and I couldn't let it go ;-)
Ho 6 tastiere.
Excellent. Orinoco flow was the reason i bought my D50 (my first synth) i sold it about 2 years after i bought it, kind of regret that tbh, but needed money at the time.. :(
Thanks for your comment. Well with a bit of luck, if you search patiently you can get a D-50 for little cash. I bought mine for about 240 euros, and it's in excellent state, beside some scratches due to its age. For about the same price 2 years ago I got the Yamaha SY77, the unfamous "DX7 on steroids", and its price is rising in these last times as people begins to know how better than the DX7 it is, while sharing the same basic FM synth engine (so in fact is 100% DX7 compatible)
No, I'm not on Facebook (personally I don't like social networks like Facebook, Netlog, etc...) and, as I don't yet make my own music, I haven't any myspace. Maybe in the future... For now I'm only here.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I'll do some other Enya's stuff in the future, but I cannot tell you when at the moment... Be patient and something will come ;-)
Yes her songs are based a lot on synthesizers, especially for the ethereal pads typical of Enya's music style. The D-50 was the Enya's workhorse, a lot of the sounds in her songs come from this synthesizer.

just add a little more of reverb to the pizzagogo. Nice cover!

@Panzers2006: actually there was the reverb, but I think the audio compression made it almost unhearable... Anyawy thanks for your comment :-)
