Everything was filmed on the day. The rain came, but has made very little change to the levels. Its a large lake and will take a long time to fill it up again.

Such a small Island and yet the Floods from the North never reached us. Dont want the floods, but could do with the rain to fill all the lakes.

Came to have another look at the mink, never seen one in my life before:)

It is the first time I have ever seen one. I mistook it for an Otter, but Ranger Jim identified it for me. I met up with him on the way from the reserve.

I guess now that real fur is not in fashion it's safe for a mink to show up... A couple of times I saw a family of them when I was back at the cabin in Nominingue, Quebec.... They are quick. You are lucky that this one posed so long for you :)

yes, very nice to see something new. i saw a track the other day in the snow which is a mystery, still puzzled.

your mink is very dark-colored. ours are more brown.

Its great to see a Mink..He has a very cute face and I think that's a very rare sight indeed...The Mink is a marvel of nature and its a shame that people exploit it for the fur...Great filming Phil as usual..Thanks for sharing...

Great stuff Phil, I love the Mink. I have never seen them up here although I do believe that they are about (escaped years ago from a mink farm).

I hate those kind of farms that breed them for their fur, it is the foirst time I have seen one at the reserve, they are there, but are illusive, this one seemed to be checking me out, and the way it lkooked at me with the "What ya talking about willis" look, reminded me of Hammy. Ironic, that that is also the last place I took Hammy after she passed on.

Oh yes they can, and are very good, I thought it was an Otter when I first saw it, only manged to get the camera on for those few seconds, but it was well worth it.,

Thank you so much Eric. They are not the same, but the Mink is a member of the Weasel family. They are an aggressive animal, but this one did not seem to be, it was so cute ;)

How fun!! A mink!! :-) Captured on video...the best way to capture wildlife...:-) A windy day to finish knocking down the leaves before the snows of winter...:-)

Oh wow a Mink that must be rare to see are they safe and protected in our country Phil. I cannot say I know much about them apart from being exploited for their beautiful coat.

We are very lucky to have obtained the amount of rain for our needs, others have been washed out and flooded with the loss of so much, God Bless them and lesson their burden. Thank you Phil another wonderful wild life file x Have a great week my friend respects and Happiness for you and yours x

It is the first Mink I have seen, but what a treasure. All I know about them, is they are a memeber of the Weasel family and good fishers, can be aggressive, but they are cute to look at ;)
