  • great shots...sweetie...as usual..you bring nature into our hearts!

    peace

  • Was that start a before and after shot? The rain come yet?

  • Everything was filmed on the day. The rain came, but has made very little change to the levels. Its a large lake and will take a long time to fill it up again.

  • I wish you can have our rain, been raining non stop. it has been raining so much i have not had much time for filming

    :)

  • Such a small Island and yet the Floods from the North never reached us. Dont want the floods, but could do with the rain to fill all the lakes.

  • Came to have another look at the mink, never seen one in my life before:)

  • It is the first time I have ever seen one. I mistook it for an Otter, but Ranger Jim identified it for me. I met up with him on the way from the reserve.

  • I guess now that real fur is not in fashion it's safe for a mink to show up... A couple of times I saw a family of them when I was back at the cabin in Nominingue, Quebec.... They are quick. You are lucky that this one posed so long for you :)

  • Thanks Andy. I was lucky to see it at all. I was facinated by it and I think it was of me too lol Looks like he was smiling with that white beard he got hehehe

  • yes, very nice to see something new. i saw a track the other day in the snow which is a mystery, still puzzled.

your mink is very dark-colored. ours are more brown.

  • I am sure, that a man with your knowledge, will soon get to the bottom of the track in the Snow. Been watching your videos too my friend, they are awesome.

  • Its great to see a Mink..He has a very cute face and I think that's a very rare sight indeed...The Mink is a marvel of nature and its a shame that people exploit it for the fur...Great filming Phil as usual..Thanks for sharing...

  • Thanks Menu. I have never seen one before, but it was a great suprise and a highlight to a wonderful day at the reserve,

  • Breeze, tide and MinkTASTIC!!! 5*

  • respect to Ranger Jim too :)

  • I will have to let him have a listen to your CD;s ;)

  • Rob my friend, the Music is awesome, Its my kinda music. ;)

  • Perfect in all its ways Phil ! And oh my gosh !!! A mink !!!! The very first in your Youtube career eh ? Hahaha

Great ! Oh my, were you proud !!! Weren't you ?! Hahaha... Next time you have to film your own face afterwards ! Love to see how your face looked after you saw the mink ! Hahahaha...

    -xo-

    Annet

  • LOL I bet you would, but I dont want to break my Camera LOL. Still, I met Jim on the way back and he identified it as a Mink for me ;)

  • Great stuff Phil, I love the Mink. I have never seen them up here although I do believe that they are about (escaped years ago from a mink farm).

  • Thank you Dorrie. I hate those kind of farms that breed them for their fur, it is the foirst time I have seen one at the reserve, they are there, but are illusive, this one seemed to be checking me out, and the way it lkooked at me with the "What ya talking about willis" look, reminded me of Hammy. Ironic, that that is also the last place I took Hammy after she passed on.

  • I didn't now that mink can swim !!!

    That was really wonderful :))

  • Oh yes they can, and are very good, I thought it was an Otter when I first saw it, only manged to get the camera on for those few seconds, but it was well worth it.,

  • the mink was VERY cool! he was definitely checking you out! are minks the same as weasels? peace2u! eric

  • Thank you so much Eric. They are not the same, but the Mink is a member of the Weasel family. They are an aggressive animal, but this one did not seem to be, it was so cute ;)

  • Aaaah. Thank you Phil and Rob

  • Thank you james and especially thank you to Rob, I love this music.

  • How fun!! A mink!! :-) Captured on video...the best way to capture wildlife...:-) A windy day to finish knocking down the leaves before the snows of winter...:-)

Thanks for the lovely peaceful moment, Phil! xoxoxoxo

  • Thank you Caylyn. I totally agree, the only way to capture wildlife is on film and not in a cage ;)

  • Lovely...I see the water is up! *****

  • Yups by about 5mm

  • global warming!! lol

  • Oh wow a Mink that must be rare to see are they safe and protected in our country Phil. I cannot say I know much about them apart from being exploited for their beautiful coat.

We are very lucky to have obtained the amount of rain for our needs, others have been washed out and flooded with the loss of so much, God Bless them and lesson their burden. Thank you Phil another wonderful wild life file x Have a great week my friend respects and Happiness for you and yours x

  • It is the first Mink I have seen, but what a treasure. All I know about them, is they are a memeber of the Weasel family and good fishers, can be aggressive, but they are cute to look at ;)

  • So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful!

    Luvs,

    Mooz

  • Thank you Mooz and I hope you are taking it easy now ;)

  • Hey Phil, I was wondering if you ever saw any mammals on your filming trips, low and behold the beautiful black w/ white chest patch mink did appear. What a thrill that must have been for you. I'm so glad you caught it on video. Thanks!!

    Peace,

    Netty

  • Hi Netty. I was so excited, I thought it was an Otter. Cant see very well without my glasses, but Ranger Jim identified it for me. That guy is so awesome. It is the fitst time I have seen the Mink. The otters remain illusive, but I kow they are there ;)

  • Fantastic vid Phil, glad to see your water level not so high. Keep up the great work

  • When it gets to 9 on that Scale, I will be happy again ;)

  • Incredible seeing your water level, Cumbria would love to have it that low!

  • I want Cumbrias waterfall here ;)
