  • These are my boys and they loved what they did... Go Fast. RIP JT!

  • Scott your a good friend! Proud of you and the team for standing down Sunday!

  • One competitor who chose not to compete Sunday was Scott Begovich of Riviera Beach, Fla., throttleman for Miss Geico, the lone Turbine Class boat. It nevertheless won a world championship.

"My head is not in the game," said Begovich, a good friend of Gratton. "You have to be 100 percent mentally sound and clear-headed to pilot a boat at 160 mph."

  • How did the other racers know the outcome of the crash?

  • Hey assholes who keep driving the boats by 10 feet from the crash. Ya ever heard of some goddamn sympathy. Turn off your fucking boats and try to help the guys. That Geico boat just made me lose respect for Geico. And whatever companies the other 3 or 4 boats were too. I will look later. That guy should not have Geico as a sponsor.

  • @MultiAce43 couldn't agree more.. I watched the video and kept thinking - 'why aren't these guys slowing down or stopping to assist'. The heli took over a minute to get a guy in the water. Don't know if faster response would have helped, but it couldn't have hurt. RIP guys.

  • They don't black flag a race when something like this happens????

  • Unfortunately, Carbonell plays by his own rules and safety is NOT paramount. It makes me sick to watch this video. I'm not sure what kind of shape these guys were in right after the crash, and I'm also not sure if anyone could have done anything to help, but they could have at least tried. Who knows what the outcome could have been. My heart goes out to the families.

  • For Greg and anyone else watching this video, I can offer an explanation since I have been involved with the sport for over 20 years and I was a National Champion two years in a row. To shed some light on why these boats do not stop, each sanctioning body has their own rules. SBI does NOT require racers to stop and assist. They don't even have a caution flag. However, APBA DID have caution flags and the racers were REQUIRED to stop and assist if we were in the area or get a penalty.

  • @greg1644 I was wondering the same thing, seems pretty irresponsible not to slow the others for a caution.

  • I Have watched this several times & really need somebody more educated in superboat to explain how the other boats kept running for 6.3 miles without shutting down out of respect. This channel is very narrow & the EMT's have to cross to make it to the inner mole. All I see is neglagence from officials. All due respect, yet how did the leading boats not stop???
