  • Wow. There are a lot of negative posts here. You can't blame these guys for what the Monotron is - it's pretty much an electronic noisemaker.

  • Most of the commenters on this video have no idea what they're talking about, the guitarrist isn't playing to cover the sound of the monotron, the monotron is modifying the sounds of the guitar, he HAS to play for it to be working.

  • @dagooh What the comments are about, is that he didn't do long notes where you could hear the effect of the monotron better.

  • do you use a preamp or something before leading the signal from the guitar into the synth or after? I tried the same with a kaoss pad 3 and failed :D

  • You guys are gods, don't listen to these youtube trolls, that was the best jam I've ever heard. Can you please teach me?

  • Qué puto pesado el guitarrista!

No se para un segundo a escuchar al monotron. solo se escucha a sí mismo!!!

  • That went well. NO.

  • Another douche guitarist who wont stop riffing to actually play something

  • They should have at least coordinated what they wanted to record, likely they are all highschool kids that just barely got the monotron have no experience and thats why they are "borrowing" a guitar center amp and guitar....

  • looks like they're in a guitar center

  • Knowin what your doin helps

  • OK I did the same thing as the guys in the vid (no wait - I do not play metal :-)...

    How I made it work:

I splitted my mono signal into a stereo signal and plugged that into the monotron with a stereo mini jack.

    A mono jack won't work.

You can buy a mono-to-stereo cable for that, but it's not too difficult to make one yourself.

At the moment I'm taking it a step further, building a monotron into a guitar... done so with a theremin, will do so with a shortwave radio too :-)

  • Goddamn metalheads don't know nothing about noise. Play one fucking note and let it ring!

"but duz dat scupe teh midz???lolololol BTBAMRULZ. IMA PLAY AS MANY NOTES AS FAST AS I CANNNNNNNNNNNN"

Dude on guitar, Stop wacking off for a second and actually figure out what's going on around you.

  • @snipelfritz seriously, this

  • @snipelfritz You see, metalheads have crap guitars with stupidly low action to aid their spazzms, which makes their sustain suck, which means they can't hold a note :/

  • @PyjamaTed Often play with super light strings too, no sustain on those

  • @SuperBenzid yea, basically none at all xD

But they're bloody fun to play :D

  • @snipelfritz uhhhh... English please?

  • i just got myself a monotron, but im having trouble figuring out how to connect it to my guitar, i end up with either the monotron by itself coming through, or the guitar and the monotron separate. id really appreciate if you could tell me what the setup was in this video, or if anyone could give me any advice on how to make it work

  • well, sure, if you have a friend to play the monotron for you.

lucky you, you have a friend. :)

  • nice one guys!

now compelled to try that myself :]
